README
Banjo-Dreamie
Banjo Dreamie is the very first full-scale mod ever made of Banjo-Kazooie, with seven original levels, 200 total notes to collect, a newly designed overworld hub, and an increase in difficulty.
The plot is simple; Loggo the toilet has gained the magic once belonging to Grunty and has trapped Banjo and Kazooie in the Dreamy Depths, and they must venture through to escape.

Changelog
1.3.2
- Show total note count outside Note Door 7. This was an issue present in the original game.
- Refine totals screens for DB and NF
- When voiding out in DB, use the entrance appropriate for the transformation
1.3.1
- Fixed subarea void-out redirection
- Change "Return to Witch's Lair" behaviour for Worlds 7 & 8
Thanks BoozemanDoorslam for reporting the void-out issue, and general testing.
1.3
- Altered the note door Bottles' dialogue text to explain some potentially confusing gameplay mechanics in Dreamie
- Changes to void outs (i.e. "death pits" that don't actually kill the player)
- Protect Banjo from death when beak bustering into the void. This was a issue in the original game.
- For void outs in a subarea that would normally take you to the world entrance, the game now warps you to the start of that subarea. This does not include deaths, like when falling in lava.
- This may sometimes be undesirable, so warping to the world entrance can be forced by holding B during void out.
- On game over, the transition to the starting map now uses a white fade in, to match the white fade out
- For "Return to Witch's Lair" mod:
- Renamed the option to suit the mod better
- Forces transformation when using it in MM
- Prevent an unused area showing up in View Totals in a scenario that wasn't accounted for previously
1.2
-
Fixed honeycomb counts in View Totals. This was an issue present in the original romhack.
-
Add some note saving safeguards for save files started on v1.0.x. The following warning is still relevant, however:
⚠️ If you started a save file on v1.0.x, use note saving, and have updated past v1.1, the notes saved/restored in some worlds, in particular World 4 (HH), 7 (DB) and 8 (NF) may be inconsistent. You may need to disable note saving when completing those worlds, or start a new save file. Please see the relevant post on the N64 Recomp Discord server for more information.
Thanks Wiimeiser for doing some testing and providing some important insights.
1.1.2
- Addressed a note saving related regression in v1.1.1
1.1.1
- Added level names and proper level order to the View Totals screen. This is a QoL change not present in the original romhack.
- Added compatibility with "Return to Witch's Lair" mod
- Fixed missing anti-bee mechanisms
- Fixed game over / save & quit warps
1.0.2
- Fixed crash in World 5. Thanks Dario and Wiseguy for the (very) prompt fix suggestions, and BoozemanDoorslam for testing!
1.0.1
- Made selectable in recomp's game mode menu
1.0.0
- Initial release
