Italy had just adopted a single-shot rifle that fired from a metal casing. Unfortunately for them, the world has seen the newfound potential of repeating arms, leaving Italy on the verge of falling behind. In their desperate attempt to keep their new yet obsolete rifle to date, they adopt a modification that houses a magazine system. The modified rifles would be designated a model year of 1870/87.
This mod comes with two versions of Italian Vetterli - one full-length 1870/87 rifle, and a carbine-length 1870/87 with a spike bayonet. Unlike the rifle, Since the bayonet gets in the way, the carbine cannot take muzzle attachments. But that doesn't make it worse because the only attachment you will put on is a bayonet. Is it not?
Known Issues You May Be Asking
- The round is not properly zeroed for scopes yet.
- The clip ironically clips through the magazine when fully inserted. This is how the mesh was to begin with and I cannot fix it.
- Magazine cutoff doesn't work because it's not fully modeled and will look like it's cut in half when it's engaged. This will be implemented later with a better replacement model.
