What's better than cozying up near a warm fireplace in the middle of a frozen wasteland? Getting gifts in the meantime! Modmas is back!
Each day a new smoke grenade will appear on the map, along with a hint in this description for where to find it. Unpin and toss the smoke grenade to signal Drunk Santa, and moments later he will arrive with your newfangled toy!
The map has been overhauled from last year, with improved lighting, better performance and more secrets! Who knows what the frozen tundra has in store?
FLARE LOCATION CLUES
Day 1: "Nothing is more relaxing than sitting in a rocking chair and listening to wintry tunes on your stereo. And that's not just 'cos I'm bored out of my mind!"
Day 2: "I left out some cookies and milk at the bedside table. Except it's for me for when I wake up; Santa isn't getting a crumb!"
Day 3: "All gather 'round the fireplace, 'cos the cabin is freezing! Seriously, whose idea was it to omit insulated windows on an arctic log cabin?"
Day 4: "It's hard to write anything when my fingers are so cold that I keep dropping the pen under the table! Or is it just early onset Parkinson's?"
Day 5: "I need to make a shed for my firewood. I don't think the wood I just picked up works when it's covered in a thick layer of ice!"
Day 6: "Santa's suit must be fire-retardant. After all, how does he not burn when going down a chimney?"
Day 7: "Ain't nothing like the smell of cordite on a freezing cold winter morning. The range I set up is great!"
Day 8: "Did you know? 5 out of J players in multiplayer games don't look up. The rest know how to count in base-36."
Day 9: "I don't understand skeet shooters. Why would you handicap yourself with a break-action when a full-auto shotgun is so much more effective?"
Day 10: "I wondered how the trap shooting house works and went to have a look. Spent the rest of the day picking pottery shards out of my gums."
Day 11: "I had a potentially genius idea: rebuild the range by tearing down the wall and make a combination trap-and-skeet range. Call it treet! skap?"
Day 12: "I had a carrot today, so I tested my skills at the sniper range. That gnat didn't stand a chance!"
Day 13: "I should probably put some extra tarps on the sniper range. The roof tarp doesn't really work when the wind is blowing sideways!"
Day 14: "A key from my keyboard got busted. I was able to replace it with the F11 key for the moment, though."
Day 15: "Hold up, this game's called H3VR, but I haven't seen a single hot dog or horseshoe around here. Shouldn't you call it H1VR then?"
Day 16: "I'm L8! I'm L8! For a very important business meeting with Santa and his associates!"
Day 17: "I was out doing some plinking, when a mouse came up to my stall and stole my brass! Nothing a little ratshot couldn't fix."
Day 18: "Whilst shooting at the range stalls, I had a thought. That outcropping to the left would probably make for a great backstop!"
Day 19: "I want a refund! I shot at one of my metal targets, and it exploded into a cloud of feathers!"
Day 20: "I got drunk while trap shooting and mistook an M79 for a break-action shotgun. Nobody got maimed too badly, but there's a new clearing in the forest now."
Day 21: "Man, Mass Effect sure is cool, isn't it?"
Day 22: "Duolingo brings out such lexical treasures. Did you knOw that the Finnish word for the number 6 is the same as the word spruce?"
Day 23: "I was out on the range when I heard my missed shot hit something big and metallic in the woods. I'm scared to take a look."
Day 24: "My internet died, so I climbed as high as I could to get a better signal. Someone was already there though, so I settled for second best."
Day 25: "IT MODMAS"
Enormous thanks to each and every member of the Collective who helped bring this project to light!
