AVS-36 Battle Rifle

The AVS‑36 was an early Soviet attempt to give infantry a select‑fire, magazine‑fed rifle, an early concept that was around during the 20s and 30s. Designed by Sergei Simonov in the mid‑1930s and chambered for the full‑power 7.62×54R cartridge, it fed from a 15‑round detachable magazine and used a short‑stroke gas system with a complex tilting/locking mechanism. When it worked, it offered impressive firepower for its era, has the ability to fire in both semi and the uncontrollable full auto.

Not the best rifle to sling around during the time and was quickly shelved for the SVT-40, which was a much better, cheaper and feasible rifle to be deployed.

It takes the 15 round magazine as mentioned, followed by the ability to top up via stripper clip. The recoil is mean, hence the huge muzzle brake was designed. Has also the ability to mount PU Scope, a hidden Russian rail at the side and muzzle devices.
