ModulColtACR

Colt's entry into the Advance Combat Rifle program, with the idea of improving the aging platform to be ready for the new future warrior systems in the 80s onwards. There are other rifles being submitted for trials and prototypes but none really took off as it should be.

Colt ACR is another platform where it takes existing M16 platform and improve upon it. Also with the idea that the Duplex ammo might be something worth using alongside with the ACR.

The program failed to gather any traction and was shelved for something different later on, but what remained on the rifle did help to pave way for future development, such as the ELCAN sight, the SOPMOD style stock and well, not much others...

The Colt ACR comes with its own interesting sets of attachments, namely its quirky hydraulic buffertube that helped to mitigate felt recoil by reducing its rate of fire (which is also reflected here), its weird muzzle mitigator system and also its grip. The handguard didn't go anywhere else in the future development of the rifle, as it uses almost a shotgun style rib, with painted white stripe to help with aiming.

The carry handle is also detachable, which also allows mounting carry handle mount and hidden picatinny rail as requested.

The buffer tube will reduce the ROF of any modul weapons, however, it's a known issue that you have to fiddle away with any attachments that also messes with its ROF, so its best to start off with as empty of a gun as possible before mounting the buffer tube.
