History

The Forgotten of 167-Afundus

A rocky moon isolated in a remote part of the galaxy. Without a breathable atmosphere and subjected to extreme thermal fluctuations between day and night, it was nothing more than a barren rock lost in space. Yet, a mysterious installation was set up there, surrounded by secrets. Workers were sent without clear explanations, simply lured by the promise of decent pay, but they never received any answers regarding the true purpose of their mission. For several years, operations ran smoothly, but sudden and unexplained decisions abruptly ended the activities. The employees, mainly underpaid workers and subcontractors abandoned by their governments, were left to their fate when the administrators left the installation. A simple message was transmitted to them before departure: “Operations are suspended indefinitely. Good luck.”

Isolation

At the time of the abandonment, more than 300 people were still in the installation. The last cargo ship had left without them, and the dust storms on the surface made communication impossible. Cut off from the rest of the galaxy, the workers quickly had to face the reality of their situation: the rations intended for a few weeks were insufficient, and the survival systems were aging. The main garage door, which led to the outside of the installation, had abruptly closed with a loud metallic clang when the administrators evacuated. A cold, final sound that seemed to mark the end of any hope. This door, which had never shown signs of malfunction, sealed shut in silence, locking access to the outside and leaving the workers trapped, with no way to escape. The first months were marked by an attempt at organization. A foreman gathered an emergency council to ration food and oxygen. They began to explore the abandoned sectors of the installation, hoping to find resources left behind by those who had left. But these searches revealed much darker secrets.

Shadows of the Past

The installation seemed like a simple industrial base, but the lower levels told a very different story. The workers discovered sealed rooms filled with strange equipment and cryptic documents mentioning "experiments" conducted in hidden chambers. The archives spoke of tests performed on unknown subjects, but no trace of these subjects was ever found. It was then that the disappearances began. The first to vanish were scouts sent to the most remote sections of the installation. Their location beacons stopped transmitting without explanation. Then, it was the turn of the workers themselves. The last witnesses reported hearing strange sounds— a mix of murmurs and deep vibrations— before their companions vanished.

The Fall of the Installation

Faced with fear and despair, some, led by the foreman, tried to maintain a semblance of civilization and continued to sift through the archives to understand what was happening. When the main oxygen survival system failed, it was the beginning of the end. Soon, the workers were reduced to a handful, barricaded in different areas of the installation. The echoes in the hallways still carried those strange sounds, and many claimed that something—or someone—was roaming the abandoned halls.

A Silent Moon

Years later, an exploration ship ventured to the moon, drawn by the intermittent signals still being emitted by the installation. When they entered the facility, they found that the garage door, sealed for years, was now open. A strange whistling sound accompanied this movement, as if the installation itself had decided to reconnect with the outside world. This inert, anachronistic action struck the explorers, who wondered how a faulty door could reopen on its own after so many years of silence. Inside, they found only empty hallways, walls covered in graffiti recounting the collapse of society, and rooms shrouded in silence. But deep in the chambers, strange inscriptions were carved into the walls, and an eerie energy seemed to still linger in the place. No one knew what had happened to the last survivors of the installation, but one thing was certain: some questions are better left unanswered.
