History
72-Leftumor: The Cursed Moon
Once a leading research and security center, the moon 72-Leftumor was a bastion of science and progress. Orbiting an isolated gas giant, it served as a laboratory for classified experiments conducted by scientists and engineers under strict supervision.
The Golden Age of Leftumor
The surface of 72-Leftumor was covered with industrial complexes and automated surveillance stations. Beneath its surface, underground laboratories conducted experiments on extraterrestrial life forms and quantum anomalies. The primary objective of the project: to study and contain phenomena that defied conventional physics. But over time, anomalies began to manifest: surveillance systems inexplicably deactivated, radio signals were disrupted by incomprehensible whispers, and shadows seemed to move where no light source permitted them.
The Great Silence
One day, without warning, all communications with 72-Leftumor ceased. Reconnaissance drones sent to investigate returned with corrupted data, and the few recovered transmissions consisted of fragmented, panicked messages, interrupted by screams and static noise. A rescue mission was dispatched, but what they discovered defied understanding. The facilities were intact, the lights still functioning, yet the moon was empty. No trace of the scientists or security personnel. As if all life had been erased in an instant. Reports from the explorers mentioned an abnormal darkness, a veil of shadow clinging to structures and absorbing light. Some sensors detected a presence—an array of incorporeal entities wandering the abandoned station, tracing incomprehensible shapes on the walls, and appearing briefly in the reflections of windows and screens.
The Retreat and the Ban
None of the rescue team returned unharmed. Those who did not disappear went mad, muttering incoherent phrases about an invisible presence waiting to be released. The moon was declared a forbidden zone, and all nearby space routes were redirected to avoid any interaction with the cursed satellite.
Today: A Shadow in the Darkness
72-Leftumor remains forgotten, silently floating in space, shrouded in eternal night. The few adventurers who approach report strange phenomena: their instruments cease functioning, their ships drift slightly off course, and some claim to hear whispers echoing through their intercoms. Some believe that the moon is no longer just an abandoned place, but that it has become an entity itself, a consciousness born from the fusion of human experimentation and the supernatural forces awakened there. No one truly knows what happened to the inhabitants of 72-Leftumor. But one thing is certain: it is no longer empty.
