CHANGELOG
Changelog for Seras Squad Modpack
Version 1.1
Overview
Welcome to the inaugural stable release of the Seras Squad Modpack, thoughtfully designed by Flame and Sera for Sera's Server and its vibrant community. This version marks the transition from intensive testing to providing a stable, refined modpack experience.
Changes
- Removal of TooManyEmotes: This mod was found to cause a critical glitch where players, upon joining the server, would become trapped in a void-like space outside the ship. Players inside the ship could hear but not see the affected player, who was unable to move or see anything. Occasionally, the host might see the trapped player as "Nameless" in the player list. The issue often necessitated a complete game restart for the affected player, a significant inconvenience considering the modpack's load times. Additionally, one player in our group was consistently unable to join with this mod active. Removing TooManyEmotes resolved these connectivity issues and improved overall gameplay stability.
- Removal of MirrorDecor: This mod led to a disorienting bug where players would see their avatar in front of them after respawning, persisting until the game was restarted. This issue significantly hindered gameplay, prompting its removal for a smoother experience.
- Custom Coroner Mod: Developed a new version of the Coroner mod that operates without LC_API. This mod provides enhanced death messages and improves stability. The original Coroner mod offers more detailed synchronization with LC_API enabled, but for the sake of user convenience and mod stability, we opted for this custom solution.
- Configuration Tweaks for Improved Gameplay Flow: Adjusted various config settings to enhance the gameplay flow and provide a more seamless experience for players.
- Removal of Boombox Controller: Temporarily removed due to a known issue. Plans are in place to find a solution and reintegrate it in future updates.
Known Issues
- Desynchronization Issue: Players may experience desynchronization, notably visible when someone appears to run in place, especially near teleporters. Restarting the game for all players is the current workaround. While affected players can interact normally, their defeat results in loot and body appearing where others saw them stationary. This issue mainly occurs when a mimic's transformation attempt of a player is interrupted.
- Control Impairment Issue: Some players are unable to move their mouse or interact with objects when a mimic's transformation attempt is interrupted by another player's weapon. Pressing the escape key can temporarily resolve this issue.
- Boombox Controller Issue: A known issue with the boombox controller led to its temporary removal. Efforts are underway to resolve this and reintroduce it in a future update.
Future Plans
- Potential Reintegration of LC_API: Exploring the reintroduction of LC_API in future updates after comprehensive bug testing. Users interested in technical customization are encouraged to experiment with LC_API in their setups.
Resolved Issues from Previous Versions
- Static Player Clone Glitch: A combination of LC_API and Lethal Expansion previously caused player clones to appear stationary and immobilized the host upon world initiation. This was addressed by replacing the YouTube Boombox mod and modifying the Coroner mod to eliminate its dependency on LC_API.
