Attention, employees.

Recently, one of our interns seems to have replaced all of our cassettes for the Boombox item with music from a computer game franchise called 'MySims'. The Company chooses to disclose this as an untimely April Fools joke, but this does mean that all boomboxes now play music from these games, so please keep this in mind upon your inevitable purchase.

The intern in question defended himself merely by saying these songs were, quote, "child-hood classics". But rest assured that the perpetrator has been put through our disciplinary process on immediate notice. On an unrelated note, we have also been receiving prank calls as of late.

The Mod

Introduction:

Ever heard of that Wii and DS spin-off of The Sims called MySims? This mod brings back a heaping helping dose of nostalgia for anyone who has, by adding a ton of songs from the games to the boombox!

Every game is represented, and there is a wide variety of musical genres included, so don't be afraid to listen to some jams, some jazz, or some jar-dropping spooks the next time you venture deep into the facility.

Have a preference?

Only nostalgic for some of the games? Or have any special Interests? Well, you can filter for songs from specific games or genres!

• Run the game once with the mod installed.
• In the Thunderstore Mod Manager, click on Edit config on the left side of the screen.
• Look for LCMySimsSoundPackMod.cfg and click the Edit Config button.
• Scroll through the file, read the descriptions, and fill in your preference for options, games, or genres in the selection spaces.
• Save the file and run the game again.
• Enjoy!

Creation:

• Uses Harmony to patch over the original game's code and load the songs upon starting the game.
  • Also means that no other mods are required, and people without mods can still join the same lobby!
• A large mod, my apologies. It will likely take a bit to download and boot up your game, but it doesn't cost extra performance during gameplay.
  • Additionally, the Config option [Prioritize Selected Games] lets you choose which games' music to load when booting up the game based on your selection in the other Config option [Selected Games], to save time and performance.
    • So, if you only want music from MySims Racing, it will only load those 20 or so songs, instead of all 200!

• The MySims franchise is made by Maxis and Electronic Arts, with various composers working on the games' soundtracks. Can be found in the video descriptions of the channel below.
