Mechanics

Moons

  • The difficulty rating of moons now changes depending on the current weather to make them more accurate
  • Each tier of moons now apply a bonus scrap value multiplier, which may then change between updates. The following bonuses are:
  • Tier 1 (Free Moons, Atlantica) = 1x
  • Tier 2 (150+) = 1.1x
  • Tier 3 (750+) = 1.25x
  • Tier 4 (1500+) AND Embrion = 1.5x
  • Tier 5 (6000+, Maritopia Exclusive) = 100x
  • Added Espira, a spooky early-game moon with early dogs and mansion enemies, but in small quantities paired with profitable interiors and a small interior size
  • Lowered Embrion item min/max count from 20-22 --> 12-16, but gave it a unique 1.5x value multiplier on items
  • Increased Gratar item min/max count from 24-26 --> 28-32
  • Increased Arcadia item min/max count from 26-28 --> 28-32

Weather

  • The weather system has been soft-reworked, with the following behaviour:

-Weathers are now split into types: Clear, Hot, Cold, Wet and Events

-Every weather has a 70% chance to change to another weather of the same type (Such as the same weather or similar, like Snowfall --> Snowfall again, or Snowfall --> Blizzard)

-Every weather has a 25% chance to change to a different type altogether. Clear can become Hot/Wet/Cold, Wet can only become Clear, and Hot/Cold can only become Wet. This creates a cycle, whilst preventing crazy changes like Heatwave --> Snowfall, as a Hot weather cant become a Cold weather etc.

-Event weathers are a 5% chance to occur at all times, and include stuff like Eclipsed and Meteor Shower. When one occurs, it has a 50-50 chance to either go back to clear or pick another random event!

-Combined weathers still follow the same rules as before

-The result of the rework is weather is more predictable now, as 70% of the time it will be the same type next (50-50 if its a special event), with a 25% chance to swap to a different type and 5% to be something more random and chaotic.

  • Added new weathers:

-Earthquake (Event, periodically tremors the ground and makes some rocks fall through)

-Forsaken (Event, adds a Bracken + Ghost Girl reskin to the enemy pool)

-Hallowed (Event, spawns Skull traps outside)

-Hurricane (Wet, spawns some scraps outside, obscurs vision, trees are thrown at you periodically)

-Bloody Night (Event, reworked Blood Moon to only occur at the end of the day, where enemies revive on a short cooldown, more Masked + Indoors Dogs + Outside CountryRoadsCreatures)

  • Added new weather variants:

-Light Fog (Swaps between Cloudy and Foggy)

-Risk of Rain (Goes from Cloudy > Rainy > Stormy)

-Risk of Rain 2 (Goes from Cloudy > Rainy > Hurricane)

  • DustClouds acts as a reverse-cloudy, causing 2x the amount of scrap to spawn in, but with only 0.75x the usual value.
  • Hallowed increases the chance for Mansion related interiors to spawn, even on moons where they don't spawn normally!
  • Random lighting from Stormy and enemy spawns in Eclipsed now scales with the moon tier
  • Toxic Smog, Tornados and Hurricanes now prevents Bees, Boom Birds, Manticoils, Roaming Locusts, Nemos, Cutieflys and Baboon Hawks from spawning
  • Meteor Showers prevent the same enemies from spawning as Tornados, as well as Redwood Giants.
  • Bees will not spawn during Flooded or Snowfall/Blizzard, but will spawn 2x as much during Heatwaves
  • Ducks spawn 2x during Heatwaves
  • Baboon Hawks will not spawn during Flooded
  • 0.5x Aquatic enemies (Bruce etc.) will spawn during Heatwaves, and 2x will spawn during Flooded.
  • An extra 10% more Mansioney/Spooky enemies will spawn during Foggy, Forsaken and Hallowed weather, with 50% more CountryRoadsCreatures and Indoors Dogs too
  • An extra 50% more vision related enemies (Lockers, CountryRoadsCreatures, Shy guys, Barbers, Coilheads etc.) will spawn during Blackout weather
  • CountryRoadsCreatures can spawn outside during Hallowed, Forsaken, Eclipsed, Blackout and Bloody Night weathers
  • 3x as many Worms will spawn during Earthquakes, and they can spawn indoors
  • No robotic enemies besides Old Birds will spawn during Solar Flare weather
  • No Ogopogos spawn during Snowy weathers
  • All combined weathers combine custom spawn effects (E.g. Aurora Borealis will see Bees unable to spawn because of the snow, AND robot enemies unable to spawn because of the Solar Flare)

Enemies

  • Jackenstein is a new enemy that spawns 25% of the time when the Apparatus is taken
  • Some enemies (typically smaller ones) are now killable via Quicksand!
  • Tulip Snakes are now capped at 6, and spawn in groups of 3 instead of 4
  • Cutieflys now despawn after 1/2 of the day has passed, similar to manticoils
  • Added Lockers back to Assurance and Atlas Abyss
  • Removed Slenderman from Gloom natural spawns
  • Removed the extremely rare outside CountryRoadsCreature from forested moons, as this will now be a weather-specific thing
  • Increased Locker and Jimothy weight on Gratar, lowered Cabinet weight
  • Peepers now no longer spawn on Maritopia, Asteroid-13, Desolation, Black Mesa, Gorgonzola and Pinnacle. They already did not spawn on Titan and Embrion
  • Lockers no longer spawn on Mansioney interiors
  • Removed outside Rolling Giants
  • Shy guy no longer spawns in the Grand Armoury, and has a 2x spawn multiplier on the SCP interior along with SCP-999
  • Shy guy no longer spawns on Atlas Abyss
  • Maneaters have a 1.7x spawn multiplier in Deepcore Mines just like in vanilla mineshaft
  • Spiders have a 1.5x spawn multiplier in The Dam
  • Mansioney enemies (Ghost Girl, Nutcrackers, Butler, Jester etc.) have a 1.25x spawn multiplier on Mansioney interiors and the Rubber Rooms
  • Nutcrackers have a 1.25x spawn multiplier in the Toy Store
  • Ducks have a 2x spawn multiplier in the Liminal Pools + Pool Rooms
  • Mannequins (Coilhead reskins) have a bonus spawn chance on the Store interior
  • Ghost Dogs, Polterbugs (Lootbugs), Triplet (Ghost girl) and Phantom Brackens are new reskins that appear on Espira

Interiors

  • Reset interior size clamping inside of LunarConfig. This might result in interiors being smaller/larger than expected, resulting in more rebalancing needing to be done
  • Added Wesley's Facility, Mansion and Mineshaft reskin to every moon with those associated interiors, splitting the weight 50-50 between them
  • Added interiors to expected moons (Decrepit Store to Embrion, all new interiors to Titan/Secret Labs etc.)
  • Added Drains to Experimentation, Aquatis, Halation, Arcadia, Mazon and Sorrow
  • Added Deep Sewers to Aquatis, Halation, Arcadia, Mazon and Sorrow
  • Swapped Red Apartments on Experimentation for Deep Sewers

Interiors will still change in size between visiting different moons like normal.

  • Enabled "Route random" command, which costs 600 and takes you to a random moon, which can include more expensive paid moons. Will be disabled in v9, Special Packs, Ironmans and the Challenge Pack, and will be cheaper in the Party Pack
  • Increased Bioscan base cost from 30 --> 50, but decreased upgrade price from 900 --> 500
  • Moons now have a 4% chance each to go on sale, for between 25% and 50% off. This discount is rerolled every day past day 1, but is reset as soon as you route somewhere.
