Mimic Mod

A psychological horror mod for PEAK that adds a new threat: The Mimic.

Features

The Mimic

  • Appearance: The Mimic perfectly copies the appearance (model, color, accessories) of a random player in the lobby.
  • Voice Mimicry: The Mimic listens to voice chat and records short clips. It will play these clips back when players are near, creating confusion and paranoia.
  • Behavior:
    • Stalking: Initially passive, it follows its target from a distance.
    • Hostile: After a random duration (1-2 minutes), it reveals its true form (Aggressive Zombie AI) and attacks.
    • Recycling: If the Mimic falls too far behind, it vanishes and respawns ahead of the players, targeting a new victim.

Host Settings (F11)

Press F11 to open the configuration menu (Host Only).

  • Max Mimics: Limit the number of active Mimics.
  • Spawn Interval: Control how often Mimics appear.
  • Recycle Distance: Set the distance threshold for Mimic relocation.

Installation

All players in the lobby MUST have this mod installed for voice recording and syncing to work correctly.

Local Testing

  1. Ensure Config.Build.user.props points to your Thunderstore profile.
  2. Run dotnet build Mimic/src/Mimic/Mimic.csproj.
  3. Launch game via Mod Manager.
