Many professions are available to choose from. Each come with unique benefits.Access the professions window by pressing P.
Alchemy
Increasing your alchemy skill by making potions will enhance your ability to craft even more potions.In the early stages of the game, you'll be crafting lesser and medium potions.
By crafting an alchemy table from wood and stone, you can start discovering new potions as you explore.
Gathering new materials will also allow you to unlock a wand and staff, capable of healing or unleashing elemental attacks.
Using medium potions in the potion cauldron, you can create a potion base, which is used for making flasks.
Flasks provide better healing and resistance against enemies.
The philosopher's stone can be crafted from flasks in the potion cauldron.
Philosopher's stones are utility items that grant resistance, additional alchemy skill, and +75 weight when worn.
These stones will destroy themselves to revive you if you die while they are equipped.
Blacksmithing
Blacksmithing increases the durability of crafted armor and weapons. Blacksmithing counts as an upgrade for crafting tables, allows repairing items in the inventory and upgrade armor and weapons an additional time.
Starting at level 10, you count as one upgrade for your workbench.
Starting at level 20, you count as two upgrades for your workbench.
Starting at level 30, you count as one upgrade for your forge.
Starting at level 40, you count as two upgrades for your forge.
Starting at level 50, you count as one upgrade for your black forge and galdr table.
Starting at level 60, you count as two upgrades for your black forge and galdr table.
Starting at level 70, you can repair your items from your inventory.
Starting at level 80, you can upgrade all weapons and armors one additional time.
Building
Building increases the health of pieces built by you slightly. You can also build higher, the higher your building skill level is.Reduced the stamina usage of building by 1% per skill level.
Starting at skill level 30, your hammer has 30% reduced durability drain.
Starting at skill level 50, you have a small chance to not spend resources when building (resources for free building pieces will not be returned, if you destroy the building piece).
Cooking
Cooking increases health, stamina and HP regeneration for cooked food.Starting at skill level 50, food can turn out perfect.
Eating perfectly cooked food will make you happy, increasing your movement speed by 10% for 3 minutes.
Exploration
Exploration increases the exploration radius and movement speed.
Starting at skill level 20, you can record your map on the cartography table.
Starting at skill level 40, you can copy the map on the cartography table.
Starting at skill level 50, you have a chance to double the content of treasure chests.
Every level also slightly increases the radius of the wishbone.
Farming
Farming makes crops grow faster and increases item yield for harvesting crops.
Starting at skill level 20, you can plant and harvest multiple crops at the same time. You can toggle this with a hotkey (default: Left Shift).
Starting at skill level 30, you can see the progress of planted crops.
Starting at skill level 50, it removes the biome requirement for crops you plant.
Also adds a hotkey you can press, to toggle snapping of crops (default: Left CTRL).
Also reduces stamina usage while planting crops by 1% per skill level.
Foraging
Foraging increases the item yield while foraging and makes berries and mushrooms respawn faster.Starting at skill level 30, you can see the time until pickables respawn.
Each level also slightly increases the radius at which pickables are picked.
Jewelcrafting
There are currently six different gem types. The different gem types are more common in different biomes. Gemstone formations do respawn after some time. Every gem has three different tiers. The higher its tier, the more powerful the gem is, but the chance to break increases with each tier. Bosses drop unique gems. You can only ever have one unique gem equipped at all times. The gems have different effects, depending on the equipment slot you socket them into. There are general descriptions for each effect in your compendium, as well as the detailed effects you get from your currently equipped gems in your active effects tab in the compendium.Jewelcrafting Wiki
Lumberjacking
Lumberjacking increases damage dealt to trees and item yield from trees, reduces damage taken from falling trees. Also increases movement speed in forests.Mining
Mining increases damage dealt while mining and item yield from ore deposits.Starting at skill level 50, there is a tiny chance that hitting an ore deposit will make it explode. There is a shortcut (default: CTRL + T) to toggle this on and off.
Ranching
Ranching increases item yield for slaughtering tamed creatures.
Starting at skill level 10, you can see when tamed creatures become hungry again.
Starting at skill level 20, animals that are getting tame aren't afraid of you anymore and you can keep them company, to reduce the time required for them to get tame.
Starting at skill level 40, you can see pregnancy related information for tamed creatures.
Sailing
Sailing increases the health of ships built by you, the sailing speed of ships commanded by you and your exploration radius while on a ship.Ship speed can be configured per ship and supports ships added by other mods as well.
Also has the option to lock ship speeds to specific skill levels.
Adds a ship nudge hotkey (Default: Left Shift) you can hold down while interacting with the ladder of a ship, to give it a small push.
