Description This mod aims to add a few hotkeys that felt like they were missing from Valheim. It is a quality of life improvement and does not change anything about the balance of the game. It simply gives a smoother experience. The features of the mod are detailed below. If you have any suggestions please have a look at the feedback section below. The mod comes with a configuration system to change some of the default hotkeys.

Features Quick select while building to use a certain object and its rotation (default: Q) Scroll through items in the hammer/hoe/cultivator menu while holding a prefix (default: Alt) Quick repair using the hammer (default: V) Switch the hotbar with the row below it (default: Z) Quickly equip a pickaxe/axe when looking at the respective resource (default: Q) Quickly equip a hammer from your inventory (default: B) Quickly equip a torch from your inventory (default: T) Open the players stats (default: P) Open the player log (default: L) Easily access items in the hotbar 5-8 (default: Alt + 1-4) The first row in the table menu (like the build menu or the hoe menu) can be quick selected using the 0-9 keys Hold control while rotating a build object to turn it 90 degrees Interaction with objects is now possible while building The default hotkeys can be changed through a configuration file or through the Configuration Manager

Installation Instruction The files can be found under the Downloads section in Nexus.

Prerequisites You will have to install BepInEx in order to make this work. If you did so for a different Valheim mod (like ValheimPlus), then you won't have to it again.

Instructions

1. Download the latest version of this mod
2. Locate your game folder: 1. Go into Steam 2. Right click the valheim game in your steam library 3. Go to "Manage" -> "Browse local files"
3. Inside the game folder find your plugin folder under "BepInEx" -> "plugins"
4. Place the MuchBetterHotkeys.dll in the plugin folder
5. Done!

Post Installation Tip Start the game and try out all the key combinations. If some of them are not to your liking you can change them in the config file. The config file can be found inside the game folder under "BepInEx" -> "config". Note: We have changed the name of the config in the most recent file it is now "org.enta.plugins.muchbetterhotkeys". You will have to reset your keybindings. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Known Issues

1. Using Q to quick equip the pickaxe/axe also starts autorun. We recommend setting the autorun or the quick equip button on something else

Other Info What if the game updates? Normally, the mod should simply keep working as intended. In the worst case, only parts of the mod will stop working. This can most easily be fixed by using the most up-to-date version of this mod.
