Roation (Gizmo)

Components can be rotated. For example, you can select a wall in the hammer and then rotate it (slowly):

  • Reset rotation: Rotate mouse wheel
  • Rotate forwards / backwards (to partial alignment): C + mouse wheel
  • Rotate right / left (to partial alignment): V + mouse wheel

Construction camera

Requirement: Workbench nearby

If you have the hammer in your hand, you can press ‘F6’ and then move freely visually. This allows you to get to places that you would otherwise not be able to reach - and you can easily add decorations on top and underneath and ...

  • You can move the camera using WASD, Ctrl and space

Pipette (copy)

There are 4 hammers under ‘Misc’ in the construction hammer.

  • Repair (Vanilla)
  • Pipette
  • Building Pipette
  • Area Pipette

The Pipette (simple or in its two extra forms) is used to pick up and copy a building element. For example, you can use the pipette to aim at a tree, left-click - and you have already selected a tree for the hammer. Now you can rotate it and place it somewhere else as desired

The ‘Building pipette’ can pick up an entire building (interconnected components).

The Area Pipette does the same - but here it picks up everything in an area. With the mouse wheel you can determine the size of the area, with q you can switch between "round" and "square" for the area selection.
Here you can also select plants, things like meat piles and co.

Size changes

If you have something like a tree on the hammer, you can adjust the size using shift + mouse wheel. This works for most plants and also for some other components, but by no means for all.

Undo (undo)

Enter undo in the console (F5), undoes the last normal construction / demolition action, if possible
