This is a custom .yml file mod made by me with the help of Ruub for the JamesJonesTV Dedicated Server. Smoothbrain made the backpacks mod itself this is just a configuration file to add all these backpacks.
For this mod to work you must go to your Smoothbrain-Backpacks conifg settings and turn on "Use external YAML".
If you have any issue installing this mod just message me in the discord and I will send you the .yml file and you can just throw it in your config folder as that is all that you need. Editing this config is easiest in Notepad++.
I recommend that you also use the following mods to take full advantage of interface and intended recipes. You can edit the recipes and bags to anything you desire. You can choose to use just one bag or all 15 bags, you can rename and redesign them however you want. This again was made for my server and I am just posting this so you may grab the config file and do whatever you desire with it.
This mod included 15 new backpacks that can easily be edited in the config files. It already includes the prefabs to several popular mods. You can remove or add anything you desire easily.
- Tool Belt = Stores basic building tools and custom mod building hammers and bronze/iron nails.
- Enchanting Pouch = Stores all of the Epic Loot Dust, Reagents, Shards, Runestones and Essences. Also stores Forest, Iron and Gold Bounty Tokens.
- Potion Pouch = Stores all potions, tonics and elixirs.
- Forager/Farming Basket = Stores pickable items like berries, veggies, mushrooms, honey and some farming items like flax/barley and linen thread.
- Butchers Sack = Stores raw meat and animal parts.
- Leather Luggage = Stores leather, wool, scales and animal hides.
- Mining Bag = Stores Pickaxes, ores, stones, bars etc.
- Timber Tote = Stores logs, resin and hatchets.
- Seed Box = Stores seeds from all biomes.
- Fanny Pack = Stores all coins, valuables, accessories, utility items and some tradable goods.
- Trophy Trunk = Stores all trophies.
- Tackle Box = Stores all fish equipment, bait and vanilla fish.
- Lunch Box = Stores all processed food.
- Bag of Bones = Stores all bones.
- Shaft Satchel = Stores all arrows, bolts, bombs, missiles and payloads. Does not act as a quiver. BoesBeforeHoes is a good option for a functional quiver to go alongside this.
All bags start at 8 slots and can be upgraded 6 times to level 7 gaining 4 slots per upgrade to a maximum of 32 slots. Each upgrade will require the next biome materials. All bags reduce the carry weight of items inside by 10%. This can be edited in the configs. All bags are crafted from the Forge so the upgrade system can reach level 7.
Items will automatically be deposited into the bags upon pickup. These bags really help you organize your inventory without having to go back to bank every 5 minutes.
If you find any items that should be categorized in a bag just let me know and I will add it to the bag if it makes sense.
In the pictures above you will see items from the following mods: Epic Loot, Farmheim, RtD Biomes, BoesBeforeHoes, HoneyPlus, Herbalist, Monstrum, Wizardry and Build Hammers from various build piece mods. Again the only mod required to use these backpacks is Smoothbrains Backpack mod. You then can edit the configs however you want.

Again you may send me a message just to grab the config file and then delete the mod itself. Just throw the .yml file into your config folder then edit the file in Notepad++ for the easiest use.

MAKE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR .YML FILE BEFORE UPDATING if you made several config changes. Any config changes WILL be lost after you update. This is unavoidable as a config mod anytime I update the conifgs previous changes you made to the config settings will be lost. If your going to make several changes you may not want to update the mod or just place the .yml if your configs folder and then delete the mod. Or you copy and paste all your changes in a notepad++ file then quickly transfer them back after each update.
Known Issues:
- Everytime this mod is updated any previous changes you made to the .yml settings will be erased after you update. This is unavoidable with this being a config mod. Changes to Smoothbrain's backpack settings will not be effected.
- Shaft Satchel does not act as a Quiver. Not sure how to make this happen. Just use Boesbeforehoes mod alongside this extra storage container. https://thunderstore.io/c/valheim/p/Azumatt/BowsBeforeHoes/
- Items within the enchanting pouch must be removed before being used at enchanting table.
- If you get any error spam messages just delete the modded items from the configs. I may release a vanilla version one day.
- You will need to kill the first boss in order for Sheep to spawn in meadows to get wool to craft the bags. Therzie was suppose to have made the sheep spawn without having to kill first boss. If you can't find sheep this is why.
Changes:
- 1.1.8: Added Bamboo from Bamboozled to the Timer Tote Bag. Moved the wizardry mushrooms to the Foraging/Farmer Basket from the lunchbox.
- 1.1.7: Warning this update will remove 5 bags if already crafted that had name changes. Last time this will happen. Only changes to the bags names actually delete them after updates. Gave backpacks a weight category of either small, medium or heavy. Heavy bags will reduce items inside their bags by 10%. Medium 15%. Small 20%. 4 bags are heavy. 5 are medium. 6 are small. If blaxxun ever updates their code I can then change the weight of the bag itself. Renamed several backpacks. Ammo container is now Shaft Satchel. Lumberjack's Bag is now Timber Tote. Leather Satchel is now Leather Luggage. Trophy Bag is now Trophy Trunk. Builder's Pack is now Tool Belt. Removed farmheim items from bags. You can still add them back if you desire.
- 1.1.6: Updated dependencies and description. Fixed issue where items within bags were not able to be used at Workstations or Cultivators. Thank you Azu.
