Making Monsters More Destructive
This is a simple mod that disables drops from natural and man-made pieces if a monster destroys it. It is highly configurable!
Why would this mod be useful?
- You don't want trolls to be used as miners to get copper and tin before the player gets a pickaxe.
- You want to make the game more brutal when raiders destroy your stuff
- You want certain monsters to cause more destruction than others.
- You want players to have to fight Dvergr to get the Extractor, as Gjalls and Seekers lured to their dwellings will destroy the crates completely and leave no drops.
Supported Objects
The mod supports the following types of objects:
- Destructible: Small vegetation like rocks, trees and small ore nodes that have the Destruction script attached.
- MineRock and MineRock5: Large ore rocks like copper, silver and flametal, and the other big rocks like monoliths
- TreeBase and TreeLog: All big trees that use either of these scripts
- Piece: Player and generated structure build pieces
Note: This mod does NOT let monsters destroy the contents of player and loot chests, though it can prevent the chests from dropping the stuff that made them. If you want this option, let me know.
Configuration
By default, this mod will make any vanilla tree, vanilla rock, and base piece drop nothing if destroyed by a monster. However, this can all be changed.
- You can globally allow trees, rocks and pieces to drop resources or not respectively
- You can configure what monsters will destroy all drops, so if you only want the heavy hitters like trolls to destroy stuff completely, this is possible
- You can configure what small objects are considered as trees, rocks, and ores, in case other mods add their own clutter and vegetation that inherits the Destructible properties.
For example, if you want certain monsters to be a bit less destructive, you can make it so that they don't completely destroy base pieces or rocks, but will totally destroy trees.
