Survivors - Acrid
Updated a day agoAcrid
Acrid has a lot of wasted potential due to one of their best strategies being posioning the enemies and running away. That's boring. Rather than nerfing poison, I 've decided to make changes to a bunch of Acrid's skills so that they each have a unique niche and provide additional incentive for attacking.
Base Character (nerf)
- Base damage reduced from 15 (+3) to 12 (+2.4), to match most other survivors in the game.
Comments:
With Blight receiving a massive buff and both of Acrid's secondaries getting some powerful new synergies, Acrid no longer needs to have above-average base damage to make up for their shortcomings.
Alternate Passive | Blight (buff)
- New stacks of Blight reset the duration of all stacks, similar to Bleed or Hemorrhage.
Comments:
As it stands, Blight is entirely outclassed by poison in almost all scenarios, and the few that it is better in are not strong enough to justify its use. This change differentiates blight from poison by greatly increasing its single-target damage potential.
Default Primary | Vicious Wounds (tweak)
- Regenerative healing increased from 5% of your health to 8%, but heals you over 2s instead of over 0.5s.
Comments:
The goal of this change is to increase Acrid's melee range survivability through regeneration, and the extended duration lets it contribute to the reworked Ravenous Bite.
Default Secondary | Neurotoxin (rework)
- Cooldown increased from 2s to 3s.
- Damage increased from 240% to 320%.
- Now has guaranteed critical hits against poisoned targets.
Comments:
Neurotoxin is really boring. It's chip ranged damage that you use to apply poison when your special skill is on cooldown. This change lets you use it to instead deal heavy damage and proc crit-related items on already-poisoned targets.
Alternate Secondary | Ravenous Bite (tweak)
- Regenerative healing increased from 5% of your health to 8%, but heals you over 2s instead of over 0.5s.
- Cooldown increased from 2s to 3s, but damage increased from 320% to 400%.
- If this attack gets a kill, 4 seconds are added to the duration of all Regenerative stacks (an additional 16% healing per stack).
Comments:
The melee side of Acrid should be way more rewarding than it is now, so in addition to the buffed regeneration, bite has received a large increase in burst damage, and an extremely valuable on-kill effect that takes advantage of its slayer property. If you play well, you can stack up many regeneration stacks by using your primary and chaining kills with your secondary.
Default Utility | Caustic Leap (buff)
- Damage increased from 320% to 400%.
- Proc coefficient of acid pool increased from 0.1 to 0.5.
- Acid pool now hits 4 times per second instead of 2 (though damage per hit slightly reduced due to base damage nerf).
- Overall dps increased from 62.5% to 100%.
- (Indirect) No longer counts as a combat skill for Red Whip and the reworked Warbanner.
Comments:
Make the acid pool a bit more meaningful, plus counteract the base damage nerfs somewhat. Proccing bands is a nice plus.
Alternate Utility | Frenzied Leap (buff)
- Damage increased from 550% to 700%.
- Base cooldown reduced from 10s to 8s.
- Rather than decreasing its own cooldown by 2s per hit enemy, decreases the cooldown of ALL SKILLS by 1s per hit enemy.
- (Indirect) No longer counts as a combat skill for Red Whip and the reworked Warbanner.
Comments:
Frenzied leap was in a really awkward spot because it didn't synergize with the rest of your kit at all. Now it can be used to get your other skills back a bit faster, and is a better source of band procs than it was before. This also prevents it from being fully outclassed by Caustic Leap in blight-stacking builds, as the reduced cooldown on Epidemic and your secondary (as long as you also have Backup Magazines) can be worth it.
