Farming got pretty tedious for me — especially all the hoeing — so I built an owl to run the whole garden. It's my first mod; hope it saves you a few hundred clicks!
A helper owl that takes care of your entire garden. Place its house near your garden beds, stock it with tools and seeds, and it runs the full crop cycle on its own:
It always does the most valuable job first (a ready harvest before watering somewhere else).
Buy the Farmer Owl House from the shop and place it. Open the owl's container and drop in:
Harvested crops are deposited back into the owl's house for you to collect. While the house is full the owl just skips harvesting (and keeps doing everything else) until you empty it.
Garden beds are managed by the host, so install on the host. The farming works for everyone in the session. For the owl/house to also look right (green tint + name) on a client's screen, that client can install the mod too — but it is not required for the farming itself. Installing it is safe on clients (it stays out of the way).
Designed to stay out of other mods' way: it only patches the minimum needed and never lowers your own hoe's hit count or alters unrelated systems. Known to play nicely with the common Ale & Tale Tavern mods (FurnitureAnywhere, MoreWater, Infinite Tool Durability, One Click Interactions, TavernTweaks, etc.).
Original HelperFarmer concept by Sayrus (https://thunderstore.io/c/ale-and-tale-tavern/p/Sayrus/HelperFarmer/). This is an independent, from-scratch reimplementation inspired by that idea, with the garden cycle completed (seed planting + harvesting) and the item/owl names fixed. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the original author. Made for fun, not for profit.
Built with BepInEx 5 + HarmonyX. Source is included in the src/ folder of the dev repo.
