Dig Yer Own Hole

Updating from an earlier version

This version renames the mod folder. Delete BepInEx/plugins/AskaDigYerOwnHole before you install. If you leave it in place, the game can load the old copy instead of the new one. Mod managers remove the old files for you. Your settings are safe either way, because the config file name has not changed.

A BepInEx mod for Aska that lets you raise a dirt platform or dig a pit at your feet with a keypress.

Usage

  • Press [ (configurable) to raise a dirt platform at your feet.
  • Hold Shift + [ to dig a pit instead.

The affected patch is a configurable rectangle — 4×4 metres by default — with sharp edges, so it reads as a deliberately flattened section rather than a soft mound or crater. Handy for levelling a building site, terracing a slope, or carving out a sunken area.

Only ground currently typed as plain natural terrain is affected. Dirt patches, paths, bedrock, roads, and building footprints are all left alone.

Install

  1. Install BepInEx 6 (IL2CPP) into your Aska game folder.
  2. Drop DigYerOwnHole.dll into BepInEx\plugins\DigYerOwnHole\.
  3. Launch the game once to generate BepInEx\config\smithio.aska.digyerownhole.cfg.

Config

Setting Default Description
Enabled true Master on/off switch
Key LeftBracket Key that raises ground ([), or digs when held with Shift
Width 4 Patch width in metres (left to right)
Length 4 Patch length in metres (front to back)
Height 1 Vertical amount raised or dug
BlendDistance small How sharply the patch edge meets surrounding ground

Multiplayer

The tool only runs against the local player's own character. This should replicate to other connected players through the game's own networking, but has only been verified in singleplayer.
