Aska Tidy Terrain

A BepInEx mod for Aska that cleans up after the Hoe: it re-snaps objects back onto the ground wherever leveling left them buried or floating in mid-air.

What it does

Leveling terrain moves the ground but not the things standing on it, so trees end up hovering and planted crops sink out of sight. Tidy Terrain puts them back on the surface.

It handles planted vegetation, wild world-gen objects like trees, stone and bushes, and dead corpses.

Caves are safe. Leveling the surface above a cavern used to drag its contents — iron deposits, cave fingers, crawler nests, dropped gear — up through the ceiling and onto the surface. That no longer happens: anything below a cave ceiling is left where it is. Objects standing on the surface above a cave still get tidied as normal.

Usage

It's automatic. As you level ground with the Hoe, the mod watches the area you're working. Roughly three quarters of a second after you stop, it re-snaps every eligible object in that footprint onto the freshly leveled ground. Anything already sitting close enough to the surface is left alone, so it won't disturb terrain you didn't touch.

There's nothing to press and nothing to remember — level as usual and the mess cleans itself up behind you.

Install

  1. Install BepInEx 6 (IL2CPP) into your Aska game folder.
  2. Drop AskaTidyTerrain.dll into BepInEx\plugins\AskaTidyTerrain\.
  3. Launch the game once to generate BepInEx\config\smithio.aska.tidyterrain.cfg.

Config

Setting Default Description
Enabled true Master on/off switch
AutoResnapDelay 0.75 Seconds after you stop leveling before the area is tidied
Tolerance small How far off the ground an object must be before it's considered misplaced
Radius area worked Size of the footprint re-snapped around where you were leveling

Multiplayer

The re-snap runs against the local player's own terrain edits. Untested in multiplayer.
