TidyTerrain
Re-snaps buried or floated vegetation, world-gen objects, boulders, corpses and player-built structures onto the ground after you level with the Hoe, and keeps the forage leveling would delete.Tidy Terrain
Level ground with the Hoe and leave no mess behind.
What it does
When you finish a Terrain Level Field or a building floor plan, Tidy Terrain puts everything on it back onto the new ground, so nothing is left buried or floating.
- Trees, stones, bushes and dropped items land on the new ground height.
- Boulders, the big rocks only an explosive sack can shift, are set half-buried in the new ground, or blown up. Your choice, per rock type.
- Forage survives. Bushes, berries and mushrooms that leveling would wipe out are kept and set on the new ground. Opt out per type.
- Buildings next to the leveled ground move up or down to meet it. Buildings standing on another building are left alone.
- Ground that is already level counts as done, so you only hoe the cells that need it. Villagers skip those cells too.
- Caves are left alone. Leveling above a cave never pulls its contents up.
What's New
- Ground that is already at the target height now counts as done, so you only hoe the cells that need it.
- Objects are set on the new ground once, when a field is finished, instead of after every hoe stroke, so they no longer jump while you work.
- Estimated overall: the mod uses about 90% less CPU time per leveling job than in 1.3.3. This is an estimate, not a measurement.
Configuration
Settings live in BepInEx\config\mugsy33.tidyterrain.cfg.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
Enabled |
true |
Turns the whole mod on or off. |
ResnapStructures |
true |
Moves buildings onto the new ground height. |
AutoCompleteLevelCells |
true |
Counts cells that are already level as done without hoeing. |
[TidyTerrain.Boulders] |
Resnap |
One entry per rock type: Resnap sets it half-buried, Destroy blows it up. |
[TidyTerrain.Retention] |
true |
One entry per forage type: true keeps it through leveling. |
The per-type Boulders and Retention entries appear after you load a world once.
Known issues
- Trees and stones can take a few seconds to redraw in their new spot.
- Objects on a field you leave unfinished stay where they are until it is finished.
- Leveling roads does not move objects; only Terrain Level Fields and floor plans do.
Notes
- Everything the mod moves stays moved after you save and reload.
- Tested in single-player. In multiplayer, install it on the host; multiplayer is not yet tested.
