Frontline

(formerly Radio Airstrike)

Call in airstrikes with a radio, fly your own FPV kamikaze drone, and fight off jets, helicopters and enemy drones. Works on PC and Quest (one download) and in Fusion lobbies, where PC and Quest players can play together.

Menu (BoneMenu > Frontline)

  • Mod On: everything on or off
  • Airstrikes: strike type (incl. A-10 and D-Day Bomber Raid), test strike, A-10 Gun Run, Bomber Raid Over Me, cancel, Bomb Cam, Strike Settings, Radio Controls
  • Support: Black Hawk Gunship (Mk 19), Supply Drop and Call In Black Hawk
  • Drones & Vehicles: FPV Drone (Flying / Goggles & Sound / Controllers) and RC Car
  • Enemies: Air Battle, Enemy Drones, Clear The Sky
  • Gear: Night Vision (Look: green / white, with or without a thermal circle)
  • Multiplayer: Use In Other Lobbies, Show My Drone In Lobby, Host Settings
  • Settings: Effects & Sound (Debris & Smoke), Debug Logging

Airstrikes

Hold an empty hand up to your ear and pull the trigger to key the radio, point at the target (a red laser shows where) and pull the trigger again to confirm. Hand back to your ear + trigger cancels.

  • Artillery: a barrage of heavy shells.
  • Mortar: a tight cluster of rounds you hear fired, then whistle in.
  • Precision Bomb: a B-2 Spirit flies over, opens its bomb bay and drops a bunker buster. Bomb Cam follows it down on your desktop view.

A-10 Gun Run

Pick A10GunRun as the strike type and call it on the radio like any other strike, or use Airstrikes > A-10 Gun Run Where I'm Looking. An A-10 Warthog comes in over your shoulder, dives, and fires a 30 mm burst of about 2.4 s that walks a line of hits across the target. Then it pulls up and banks away. It uses a real A-10 recording: you see the hits, hear them crackle, then hear the BRRRT and the jet go over. Fusion synced; the host deals the damage.

Bomber Raid (D-Day)

Pick BomberRaid as the strike type and mark a target on the radio, or press Airstrikes > D-Day Bomber Raid Over Me. Up to twelve B-26 Marauders in D-Day invasion stripes come over in staggered boxes of three, props turning and engines droning. On the radio they carpet the target with 500 lb bombs. With "Over Me" they start dropping once they're overhead, and the bombs whistle down and walk away ahead of you. Fusion synced: everyone sees the same raid, and the host deals the damage.

FPV Drone

FPV Drone > Fly Drone. The goggles go on: CONNECTING, then CONNECTED, with a Betaflight-style analog OSD. Your body stays where you left it.

VR controllers: left stick climbs/sinks and turns, right stick flies, A arms, right trigger detonates, left trigger turbo, B disconnects. Acro Mode (Flying page) is real rate mode for experienced pilots.

Gamepad on PC (Xbox, PlayStation and other pads, no extra software; Steam Controller / Steam Deck with Steam Input on):

  • Left stick: fly (forward / back / sideways)
  • Right stick: turn, climb / sink
  • RT: speed, RB or X: detonate, A: arm (or just push the right stick up), B: disconnect, Start: launch

FPV radio on PC (USB joystick mode): 1st switch arms, 2nd detonates, 3rd disconnects, 4th launches.

Get shot down, fly out of range or run the battery flat and the picture cuts to DISCONNECTED. Die while flying and the drone drops while you respawn.

Black Hawk Gunship (Mk 19)

Support > Black Hawk Gunship > Call Gunship. An MH-X Silent Hawk (stealth Black Hawk) flies in and lands by the red smoke. Walk up the step into either door; it lifts off a few seconds later, 15 s in a Fusion lobby so everyone can get in (or press Take Off).

  • Seats work like the go-kart's (BONELAB's own seat system): walk into one to sit down. Or stand and work the door gun; either way you move with the helicopter and can't fall out (the doors get invisible bars in the air). Walking and jumping are off while it flies.
  • It flies like a real helicopter. It noses over to pick up speed, banks through turns, flies a descending approach, flares, and settles on its skids. It takes you to a drop-off (or Fly To Where I'm Looking) and only circles if it has nowhere to land. Orbit radius, height and speed are in the menu.
  • Door gun (C16 grenade launcher, menu still calls it the Mk 19): grab the spade handles like a gun, swing it to aim, trigger fires 40 mm grenades. 48 rounds per can, then it reloads.
  • Get In (Teleport To The Gun) puts you behind the Mk 19 (works mid-flight), Land & Get Off brings you back down, Send It Home sends it away.
  • Multiplayer: other players with the mod see the gunship and can climb in and ride. Grenade blasts hurt everyone (a non-host player's go through the host, which needs Let Players Fly Drones on).

Supply Drops

Support > Supply Drop > Call Supply Drop. A C-17 flies in low, drops its ramp and pushes a crate out the back; the crate's parachute opens and it comes down on the red smoke in front of you. When it lands, BONELAB's own ammo boxes (light, medium, heavy) and health pickups pop out around it: just touch them to take them.

  • What's In A Drop (Host): how many of each come in a drop (0-10 each) and the cooldown before the same person can call another one. Defaults: 2 light, 2 medium, 1 heavy, 2 health, 120 s.
  • In a Fusion lobby the host's numbers count for everyone, the host included. The host spawns the pickups for the whole lobby, so players without the mod can pick them up too. Players with the mod can call drops (the host can turn that off with Let Players Call Drops).

RC Car Bomb

RC Car > Spawn RC Car, then Drive RC Car. Like the RC car in Bodycam: your view goes to a camera on the car's front, with speed (KM/H) and ARMED on screen. It's a little buggy with a mini rocket warhead on top, pipe bombs and a blinking detonator strapped on. Your body stays where you left it.

Controls: right trigger gas, left trigger brake / reverse, left stick steer, A flips it back over, B stops driving. Brake hard at speed to drift.

Drive it into a wall, a prop, an NPC or a player fast enough and it blows up (same blast as the FPV warhead), then the picture cuts to static. Turn Explodes When It Hits Stuff off to just drive, or change Boom Hit Speed.

Night Vision

Gear > Night Vision: flick an empty hand down from your forehead (or the menu / N key).

  • Look: Green, White (a cold blue-white phosphor), or GreenThermal / WhiteThermal: fused night vision with a smaller thermal circle in the middle where warm bodies glow white-hot (Thermal Circle Size changes it).
  • Hot Guns: with a thermal look, gun barrels heat up the more you shoot and glow in the thermal circle, then cool down over about half a minute.
  • IR strobes: while your night vision is down you wear a blinking IR strobe on your helmet. Other players only see it through their own night vision, and everyone blinks their own pattern (single, double, triple or fast). Turn My IR Strobe off to go dark.
  • Night vision always switches off when you load a level or join / leave a lobby.

Enemies

  • Air Battle: dogfights in the sky, jets low over you, attack helicopters. Just for looks; it can't hurt you.
  • Enemy Drones: FPV kamikaze drones hunt you. Shoot the warhead to blow it up in the air, or the drone to drop it.

Multiplayer (Fusion)

  • The host's strikes are seen by everyone, even players without the mod.
  • Host Settings: let players call strikes (and pick who), let players fly FPV drones (off by default: only the host flies one until they allow it), sync enemy drones for everyone, hide popups for players.
  • Everyone in a lobby should be on the same version.

Troubleshooting

  • Radio won't key, or gripping keys it: Airstrikes > Radio Controls > Radio Button > TriggerOnly.
  • Controller not flying the drone: FPV Drone > Controllers (PC) > Check Controllers.
  • Install Miscellaneous Explosive Devices (BaBaCorp) for the best explosions.
