Fusion Player Finder
Experimental BoneMenu search for player names in public Fusion lobbies. Includes optional refresh and diagnostics. Live search behavior is still being verified. PCVR build.Fusion Player Finder
Experimental PCVR release — live search behavior is still being verified.
A BoneMenu utility designed to find advertised usernames and Fusion nicknames in public lobbies returned by your active Fusion network layer.
Current status
Version 1.0.0 loaded and created its menu in an actual BONELAB session, but the tester reported that searches found no players. Version 1.0.1 reads the username directly from its input field and adds search diagnostics. That reported failure has not yet been confirmed resolved. This is a testing release, not a verified stable release.
Features
- Username entry through BoneMenu.
- Exact or partial matching, ignoring capitalization and name formatting tags.
- Optional refresh every 30 seconds.
- Results show matching names, lobby name, host, map, player count, lobby code and Fusion version.
- Diagnostic counts for returned lobbies and advertised player lists.
Requirements
Built against BONELAB 1.744.58126 for Windows PCVR, MelonLoader 0.6.4, BoneLib 3.1.4 and Fusion 1.14.2. Steam Link uses the PCVR installation. Standalone Quest has not been tested.
Install MelonLoader and configure Fusion using their official installation instructions. BoneLib and Fusion are declared as package dependencies; their DLLs are not included here.
Manual installation
- Close BONELAB.
- Copy
Mods/FusionPlayerFinder.dllfrom this archive into your BONELABModsfolder. - Replace an older copy of the same DLL, if installed.
- Launch BONELAB, connect Fusion, and open BoneMenu > Fusion Player Finder.
Usage
Enter the player's advertised username or nickname, select Search public lobbies, then open Results. Enable Partial name match if necessary. Use a returned lobby code through Fusion's normal join-by-code control. This mod does not join automatically.
Limits
Only public lobbies returned by the active Fusion network layer are searched. Results are host-advertised snapshots and can be incomplete or stale. The Steam search excludes your own hosted lobby. Full lobbies and other Fusion versions can appear, but may not be joinable. Names are not unique identifiers. No result does not establish that someone is offline.
Troubleshooting
If searches find nothing, note the status line and the lobby/player counts under Results. Check the latest MelonLoader log for [Fusion_Player_Finder]. Diagnostic lines record network layer and counts, without recording the entered name or returned player names. No player history is saved by this mod.
Verification
The DLL compiled against the listed installed libraries with zero warnings or errors. Thirteen name-matching and text-sanitization checks passed. The updated DLL still needs in-game validation of live search results.
Credits
Built using BoneLib/BoneMenu, Fusion and MelonLoader. This is an independent mod, not an official release from their authors.
