LitePerf

A BONELAB performance mod made for low end GPUs like the RX 5600 and below. It cuts stutter and memory use without changing how the game looks.

What it does

All of these are toggles in BoneMenu under LitePerf.

Tweak What it does
Incremental GC Spreads garbage collection over frames so you get fewer hitches
Scene Cleanup Frees unused assets a few seconds after a level loads, saves RAM and VRAM
Cut Log Spam Turns off stack traces on logs, less CPU wasted
Async Upload Tuning Smoother texture and mesh loading
Particle Raycast Budget Lowers the particle collision raycast budget
Occlusion Culling Turns on camera occlusion culling
Cleanup Delay Seconds to wait after a scene loads before cleanup runs

Compatibility

Works alongside BoneBoost, BoneFPS and BonelabFSR.

LitePerf never touches render scale, upscaling, resolution, shadows, LOD bias, texture quality, anti aliasing, vsync, target framerate or physics timestep. Those are left to the other mods.

Requirements

  • BONELAB (PC)
  • MelonLoader 0.6.5 or newer on the 0.6 line
  • BoneLib

Install

  1. Install MelonLoader and BoneLib.
  2. Drop LitePerf.dll into your BONELAB Mods folder.
  3. Launch the game and look for LitePerf loaded in the MelonLoader console.
  4. Open BoneMenu and find the LitePerf page.

The .pdb file is optional, it only gives better error lines in logs.

Build from source

  1. Install the .NET 6 SDK or newer.
  2. Launch BONELAB once with MelonLoader so Il2CppAssemblies gets generated.
  3. Put BoneLib.dll in your BONELAB Mods folder.
  4. Open LitePerf.csproj and set BonelabPath to your BONELAB folder, for example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BONELAB
  5. Run dotnet build -c Release in the project folder.
  6. The dll is copied to Mods automatically, or find it in bin\Release\net6.0.

Config

Settings are saved by MelonLoader in UserData\MelonPreferences.cfg under the LitePerf category.

Notes

  • Gains are mostly less stutter and smoother loading, not huge fps jumps.
  • If you use BoneMenu with an older BoneLib and the build fails on Page, the menu code needs the older MenuManager style.
