The Gravitus Inertial MKIV is a Hi-Spec style rifle, defined by it's specialized Hi-Spec cartridge, designed to offend greater size of life creatures in fantasy settings, such as Giants, Ettin, Minotaurs, and other large beasts.
This version of the gravitus has a 16 round box magazine, as opposed to it's predecessor, which used stripper clips to load it's internal magazine. While economically advantageous, it was stupid and clunky to use, in addition to looking terrible.
The Elipse mount was added on after the 2nd version of the rifle, so as to mount optics, making the rifle more usable at realistic distances. Nobody wants to fight a Giant within iron sight usage distance.
The mass of the Gravitus made it difficult to carry a primary melee armament in addition to the firearm and all it's ammunition, so it was given a bayonet. It's hardly ever used given the rifle's special purpose, but nice to have on hand.
