BRUTALISTICK Co-op Rooms

An experimental two-player Steam co-op mod for the Steam PCVR version of BRUTALISTICK VR.

Features

  • Public rooms visible in a worldwide room browser
  • Private code-only rooms hidden from the public browser
  • No Steam-friend requirement
  • Six-digit room codes
  • Visible blue remote avatar with a head, torso, and hands
  • Synchronized head and controller-hand movement
  • Visual synchronization for spawn-gun object creation and movement
  • Synchronized undo and clear-spawned-items actions
  • Spatial room voice chat using each player's default microphone
  • In-room microphone mute button
  • Dark room-menu background

Install and play

  1. Both players install version 0.5.1.
  2. Launch BRUTALISTICK VR through Steam.
  3. Press F6 in the desktop game window to hide or show the room menu.
  4. Host a public or private room.
  5. Join public rooms through Refresh public rooms, or join private rooms by copying the six-digit code and pressing Join room code from clipboard.
  6. Both players must manually enter the same map.

The room menu shows the number of remote spawned objects currently replicated. It also shows replicas waiting for a matching prefab. Voice chat starts when another player connects; use Mute microphone to stop transmitting.

Current synchronization limits

Spawned objects are visual replicas controlled by the player who spawned them. Creation, movement, undo, and clearing are synchronized. Shared grabbing, weapon firing, projectiles, damage, enemies, missions, and scene loading are not synchronized yet.

Voice chat uses the Windows/SteamVR default recording device. If the menu says Voice: mic unavailable, select a working default microphone in Windows and allow desktop applications to access it.

When a player connects without Plugins/BrutalistickCoopUpdater.dll, the mod shows a warning explaining that required future multiplayer updates may be missed.

If something fails, include MelonLoader/Latest.log when reporting the issue.
