Ben Goop

A Content Warning mod that adds the Ben Goop - a mysterious grey sludge you can eat to trip absolute balls.

Features

Machine the Bens: the Zombe/Snailbie is a real monster in your lobby, so grab a shock stick and zap it. Each successful shock squeezes one Ben Goop straight out of its butt as a physics pickup you can snatch from the floor.
Pick the goop up and left-click (use) while holding it to consume it - mouthful of pure Ben.
The high lasts 5 minutes and changes over time like a real drug - come-up, peak, come-down:
- Hallucinated Bens: fading, incorporeal Zombe/Snailbie ghosts with glowing eyes that drift toward you across the floor. They are your hallucination, spawned locally on your own client: only you see them, they never show up on camera if you film while tripping, and they never bother other players. You can even walk straight through them.
- Vision distortion: rolling full-spectrum hue shifts, channel-smearing, chromatic aberration, lens warping, tunnel-vision vignette, film grain and white-balance swings that all pulse in their own rhythm. Sudden "waves" slam the distortion like a surge of the drug.
- After-image overlays: the screen is snapshotted on two delays and faded back over everything - the world smears and trails behind you with a twin ghost.
- Spins & shakes: sudden camera rolls, FOV pulses and screen shakes.
- Stumbling: your legs give out randomly when it hits hard.
Custom opaque grey sludge model - a lumpy, procedural slime blob with a work e coating; no glow, no see-through.
The suspicious goo loads a custom trip film and music the first time you eat it (preloaded at boot so there is no lag spike when it kicks in).
Your controls are never inverted - the trip is always playable.
Press F5 to spawn a Ben Goop pickup right in front of you for testing, and F7 to instantly trigger the trip on yourself (both remappable in BepInEx/config).
Performance-friendly: no expensive depth-of-field or motion-blur, just light colour-grade passes and a quarter-res screen capture at 10Hz.
Multiplayer-ready: pickups, item IDs and the whole trip are synced through MyceliumNetworking; other players can eat your goop from your hand and trip with (or without) you.

Installation

Install BepInEx for Content Warning (or use a mod manager with Content Warning support).
Drop MyceliumNetworkingForCW.dll into BepInEx/plugins/MyceliumNetworking/.
Drop BenGoop.dll (plus Drugs.mp4 and TrippingMusic.mp3) into BepInEx/plugins/BenGoop/.
Launch the game, create a lobby, shock a Ben, eat the goop.

The Thunderstore package (BenContentWarning-BenGoop-1.0.0.zip) contains all files in the correct layout.

Building

dotnet build -c Release

Builds against the game at the default path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Content Warning. Point elsewhere with -p:CWDir=.... The build copies BenGoop.dll into the game's BepInEx/plugins/BenGoop/ folder automatically.

If you are running the mod through a BepInEx profile (e.g. a mod manager profile), copy BenGoop.dll, Drugs.mp4 and TrippingMusic.mp3 into that profile's BepInEx/plugins/BenGoop/ folder as well.

Files

Plugin.cs - BepInEx plugin, F5/F7 debug keys, Mycelium RPC registration, and the Harmony patch that spawns a goop when a Zombe is shocked.
GoopItem.cs - clones the in-game GooBall into a "Ben Goop" item, rebuilds it as a custom opaque grey slime (procedural mesh + material), registers it in the ItemDatabase, spawns pickups (including the Zombe "butt goop"), and handles the consume-on-click behaviour.
TripEffect.cs - the drug state machine (come-up/peak/come-down), camera + post-processing distortion, spins, stumbling, media preload/playback, and the local hallucination spawner.
GhostBen.cs - the hallucination Ben behaviour (fading, drifting, no collision).
BenGoop.csproj - build setup (netstandard2.1, game references, Publicizer, output copy).

License

Use it however you like, Ben. Don't do drugs.
