QuantumConduit
Automatic planetary logistics and mecha slot refills with proliferation preservation, budgeted processing, energy exchanger support, and optional interstellar transfers. By Loki Moon Labs.Quantum Conduit
Loki Moon Labs · 0.1.1 · Single-player
Automatic planetary logistics with proliferation preservation and a configurable processing budget. Built against Dyson Sphere Program 0.10.35.29151.
Quantum Conduit connects production and consumption directly. It serves machines from available production first, covers shortages from storage, and places remaining production into compatible storage. Items and their spray points move together between real game inventories.
Supported buildings and inventories
- Assemblers, smelters, chemical plants, refineries, and other buildings using the assembler component.
- Matrix production and research labs, including the game's internal research-point units.
- Miners and pumps using the miner component.
- Thermal and fusion fuel inventories, ray-receiver catalysts, and whole photon output. Native fuel heat and fractional photon progress are preserved.
- Energy exchangers, with accumulator count and proliferation preserved in both charging and discharging modes.
- Fractionator input, circulating fluid output, and product output.
- EM rail ejectors, rocket silos, and configured turret ammunition.
- Item-assigned or filtered storage grids, configured storage tanks, and assigned PLS/ILS slots.
- Dedicated station warpers after the required technology is unlocked.
- Recoverable trash associated with that planet. Space trash without an associated planet is left alone.
- Assigned Icarus logistics slots, with optional refill-only delivery from the current planet's production and storage.
Unassigned storage slots do not choose an item automatically. Assign a station slot, set a storage filter, or place the desired item into a box/tank to establish its item type. Box bans and tank input/output switches are respected.
Planetary transfers work with local slots set to Storage, Supply, or Demand. Quantum Conduit does not change these settings, station capacities, vessel counts, recipes, power rates, or stacking settings. Native drone/vessel reservations are protected. Idle storage inventories are not shuffled between stations.
Proliferation
Existing proliferation is preserved even when automatic spraying is disabled or no Mk.III proliferator is available. Mixed stacks use the game's own remainder-allocation rule.
Automatic spraying uses available Proliferator Mk.III from production or storage on that planet. Already fully sprayed incoming items do not pay again. Partial remaining credit cannot become negative. The current item ability and Cargo effect tables are used, including boosted proliferator effects. Proliferator consumption is recorded in production statistics without replacing the statistics tick.
Unused spray credit is saved through DSPModSave, separately from normal item inventories. Keep that companion save data when moving or backing up saves. Dedicated warper inventories have no proliferation field in DSP; moving warpers into them discards their spray points, as vanilla warper use does. Quantum Conduit does not spend additional proliferator on that inventory.
Mecha logistics refills
AutoFillMechaLogistics is enabled by default. Assigned, unlocked, enabled Icarus logistics slots refill up to their requested quantity or modified slot capacity, whichever is lower. Items already reserved for incoming drone deliveries count toward that limit.
Refills use available production first, then eligible storage on Icarus's current planet. They preserve proliferation and use the existing shared processing budget. No direct off-planet refill occurs, and refills stop in space. Switching planets or replacing the logistics package invalidates prior routes. Incoming item notifications are coalesced and delivered after transfers commit.
This feature does not withdraw from mecha slots, change recycle thresholds, or directly alter normal inventory. Normal vanilla inventory behavior still applies. Logistics slots used only for recycling, with no requested quantity, are not refilled. Disable the option to retain only planetary machine transfers.
Performance
- One factory-frame-end hook, after the normal frame-end event handlers.
- Work is spread across ticks and factories, with operation and elapsed-time limits.
- Item routes use cached, reusable lists. An incremental second discovery plan refreshes routes while the previous plan keeps working.
- One incremental trash index is shared across planets.
- Transfers run synchronously at the factory-frame boundary. There are no mod worker threads, waits, or detached item buffers.
- Storage notifications are deduplicated and deferred until after both sides of a transfer are committed.
The default 0.75 ms time budget is a soft limit checked periodically. Individual operations, startup allocations, garbage collection, or other mods' callbacks can overrun it. Lower budgets favor frame times; higher budgets improve responsiveness in very large factories. New buildings and recipe changes appear after an incremental discovery pass; old cached addresses are validated before every use.
Configuration
The file LokiMoonLabs.QuantumConduit.cfg is generated when the plugin loads.
| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
Enabled |
true |
Enable planetary transfers. |
AutomaticSpraying |
true |
Use local Mk.III supplies to top up incoming proliferation. |
EnableInterstellar |
false |
Connect ILS remote Supply to remote Demand on different planets. Local slot settings remain independent. |
AutoFillMechaLogistics |
true |
Refill assigned Icarus logistics slots from the current planet without changing normal inventory or recycling. |
OperationsPerTick |
2048 |
Maximum discovery/route probes per factory tick. |
TimeBudgetMilliseconds |
0.75 |
Soft CPU budget per factory tick. |
FractionatorStackSize |
4 |
Items per virtual fractionator cargo; 4 matches PlanetWormhole's behavior. |
Fractionator stack size is independent of station/sorter stacking. Adjust it only if your fractionator setup calls for a different virtual cargo size.
Installing and testing
Requirements: BepInEx and CommonAPI-DSPModSave 1.2.2 or a compatible later version.
- Close Dyson Sphere Program.
- Disable PlanetWormhole in the mod manager. Quantum Conduit declares an incompatibility and will not load alongside it.
- Import the Quantum Conduit ZIP as a local mod in r2modman, then launch the modded game.
- Check a sprayed station-to-assembler transfer, thermal/fusion fuel, an energy exchanger, and the FPS/UPS of your usual factory.
- Save, reload, and confirm transfers continue. If testing a second save in the same game session, confirm it uses only its own inventories and spray credit.
Version 0.1.1 adds mecha refills and the standard Loki Moon Labs icon, and was confirmed working in-game by the author. Its automated fixtures include a 20,000-assembler workload with ongoing mecha refills. Compatibility with every mod combination and FPS improvement over PlanetWormhole are not guaranteed. Nebula multiplayer is unsupported; transfers are disabled if the multiplayer plugin is loaded. Having only the Nebula API installed does not trigger that restriction.
Difference from PlanetWormhole
Quantum Conduit is a separate implementation with its own identity, configuration, and save record. It does not import PlanetWormhole's temporary item buffers. Surplus remains in real output or storage inventories; if no destination has room, a machine can eventually block on output, as it does with physical logistics. Provide enough storage for byproducts.
Real item inventories remain part of the normal game save when Quantum Conduit is disabled. Only unused automatic-spray credit belongs to this mod's companion save record.
Building and checking
On Windows, run Build.ps1 or Test.ps1. Both accept -GameDirectory and -ProfileDirectory. They use the local game assemblies, the profile's BepInEx/Harmony/DSPModSave libraries, and the Windows .NET Framework compiler. No game or dependency DLLs are redistributed in the package.
