An exiled mad scientist wanted dead or alive by his former benefactors, the Geneticist uses extracted DNA from his enemies to create monstrous agunminations carrying the strengths and weaknesses of those sampled enemies. With the right combination of genetic material, the Geneticist has the potential to create extremely powerful monsters to protect him, but with his every creation, it becomes harder for him to create another one...
The Geneticist is a fully-fledged custom character that utilizes his Gene Driver to sample DNA from weakened foes and create up to five monstrous Agunminations to protect him. Each Agunmination's stats, method of attack, and even unique properties are inherited from the enemies that were sampled for its creation. For example, sampling flying enemies will likely create a flying Agunmination, while sampling an enemy with bouncing bullets has a chance to make your creation able shoot bouncing bullets of their own. Sampling enemies with the same unique properties will increase the likelihood of the resulting monstrosity having said properties. This way, sampling stronger enemies will create stronger Agunminations.
To sample an enemy, simply weaken it until it is almost dead and then approach it with the Gene Driver. An arrow will appear above the enemy if it is weak enough, and using the Gene Driver will instantly slaughter the foe, sampling it's DNA in the process. Each agunmination requires five samples to be created. After the fifth sample, using the Gene Driver will expend the stored DNA and summon your new wonderful monstrosity.
FEATURES:
The Geneticist:
- A fully-fledged custom character, including bosscard, foyercard, and punchout sprites!
- Begins with the Gene Driver active item, which is able to sample the DNA of nearly dead enemies to create up to 5 powerful, permanent Agunminations.
- Begins with Medmate, which reveals the current health of enemies.
- Begins with the Hippocratic Oath, a custom gun whose shots stick to enemies and deliver extra damage upon reload.
New Unlocks:
- Autoclaver (Unlocked by beating The Dragun): A C tier automatic gun that shoots steam and clears away all status effects from the enemies it hits, dealing extra flat damage for every status effect it clears.
- Centrifuger (Unlocked by beating The Advanced Dragun): An A tier automatic gun whose projectiles cause enemies to spin and shoot around wildly, with their shots now being able to damage other enemies (in addition to the player). Spun enemies become dazed after they finish spinning.
- G(un) Protein (Unlocked by beating The Old King): A C tier semi-auto gun, whose stats are increased by every gun the player has in their inventory (basically a gun version of unity). Shoots a projectile that splits into two, one of which (Galpha) deals increased damage, while the other (Gbeta-gamma) inflicts a random status effect.
- Eppendorfle (Unlocked by beating Bossrush): A C tier automatic gun, that basically functions as a more powerful version of the Hippocratic Oath.
- LR Injector (Unlocked by beating The Resourceful Rat): A C tier semi-auto gun, that basically functions as a sniper-rifle version of the Hippocratic Oath, dealing very large damage upon reload.
- Wombullets (Unlocked by beating the Lich): An A tier passive item that creates a temporary Agunmination for every 6 enemies killed. These Agunminations last for a single room.
A SPECIAL THANKS TO:
