Reactor Noise Control

Config-only control for the GTFO reactor power-loop noise. No in-game menu, no hotkeys, and no game files are modified.

The plugin intercepts the reactor power loop and power transition events before they reach Wwise. By default it silences them completely. You can also disable the interception and use the reactor emitter volume instead.

Features

  • Intercept the reactor power_level_loop event and all five power-level transitions.
  • Optional reactor emitter volume control (0-100).
  • Config hot reload: save the file, changes apply in about one second.
  • Does not edit simon_sfx.bnk or any other game file.
  • No UI, no keybinds.

Installation

Install with r2modman or the Thunderstore Mod Manager and select the GTFO profile. Manual installation:

  1. Install BepInExPack_GTFO.
  2. Extract this package into the profile folder.
  3. The plugin ends up at:
BepInEx/plugins/ReactorNoiseControl/ReactorNoiseControl.dll

Configuration

Config file:

BepInEx/config/ReactorNoiseControl.cfg

With BepInEx GlobalConfigRedirect enabled, it may be here instead:

%APPDATA%\GTFO.GlobalConfigRedirect\config\ReactorNoiseControl.cfg

Default:

[General]
Enabled = true

[Mute]
InterceptMute = true

[Volume]
TotalVolume = 100

Options

Option Default Description
Enabled true Master switch.
InterceptMute true Cancel the reactor power loop and transitions before Wwise.
TotalVolume 100 Reactor emitter volume, 0-100. Only takes effect when InterceptMute = false.

Notes

  • TotalVolume controls the whole reactor CellSoundPlayer, not just the power loop. It can affect other reactor sounds sharing that player.
  • InterceptMute is the clean way to silence only the reactor power loop and its transitions.
  • Other players' audio, ambience, alarms, weapons, and footsteps are not touched.

Compatibility

  • GTFO with BepInExPack_GTFO 3.x.
  • Client-side plugin. All players do not need the same mod, but install it only where you want the reactor audio changed.
