Between the fall of the Qing Dynasty and the establishment of the PRC, China imported much of their firearms from Europe. However, they also produced a great many of domestic copies, each with their own quirks.
After the Chinese Civil War, a wide variety of surplus firearms from WWII found their way into various units, and were adapted per local demands, until domestic factories started producing new patterns of firearms.
This includes:
- ArisaSKSa in 7.62x39mm
- Colt "Dragon 1903" Pocket Hammerless with Nickel finish and fancy dragon grips
- Colt M1900 "LIBRE 38" in 7.63x25mm Mauser
- FN M1910 "Long Service" 12 round pistol
- Mauser M1914 "MAOSER" in 7.63x25mm Mauser
- Nanjing FN M1900 in 7.63x25mm Mauser
- Sichuan Thompson in 7.63x25mm Mauser
- S&W Model 10 "HSSEMO & WASSOHND" Revolver
