Meunier Rifle
France's failed semi-auto rifleThe Meunier A6 was an experimental French battle rifle that was developed right before WWI to replace the aging Lebel rifle; it used a proprietary 7mm Meunier round that achieved superior performance to the standard 8mm Lebel round. However, the Meunier rifle could not be fielded in large numbers as it was simply less expensive to make the competing RSC 1917 rifle, which also still used standard 8mm Lebel.
