Excerpt from the April 1993 issue of "Sport and Rifle Magazine": Elliot Arms has built a reputation for offering practical firepower at a modest price, so I was more than a little confused (and sore) after I test fired their latest offering: a supersized "Big Game" variant of the iconic 112 Pump Shotgun. Who exactly is this gun for?
The name would imply a safari hunting application, but something tells me that the prospect of lugging around a 12-pound budget shotgun won't excite the kind of men who can afford to hunt Kudu on th eplains of Africa. Conversely, consumers looking to buy a formidable home defense weapon will get more than they bargained for. The massive 4-gauge cartridge is deafening and liable to create an unplanned exterior doorway whenever you pull the trigger.
I for one will be purchasing the "Big Game" 112 the next time I need to do battle with a dragon... which will probably be never.
