AEK-918G

The AEK-918G was a Russian experimental submachine gun developed by the Kovrov Mechanical Plant during the early 2000s under the "Baksanets" program. Chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum to take advantage of their pissing hot loads, it differed significantly from the more compact AEK-918 by using a conventional layout with the magazine positioned ahead of the trigger guard.

The weapon featured a balanced blowback operating system intended to improve controllability during automatic fire, as well as selective-fire modes including single shots, three-round bursts, and full automatic fire. Despite its innovative design, the AEK-918G never entered production and remained a prototype unfortunately.
