This mod requires the following mods to function
BepInEx-BepInExPack_Silksong
BepInEx modloader. Preconfigured and ready to use.
Preferred version: 5.4.2304README
This mod adds Shalame (the roachcatcher enemy) into every single room in the game.
Go on an epic adventure to challenge yourself, help Shalame avenge all the neglect he's been through all these years, and uncover the meaning of everything.
You wouldn't skip him... would you?
Well, the choice is yours. Kind of.
Features
- Customize the number of Shalames ready to strike at every step. (F1 for configuration settings)
- Should they give silk? That's for you to decide as well. Challenge yourself.
- Experience Easter eggs.
- Break the game, push the limits of what's possible in a resolute dance of Hornet and Shalame.
Installation
- Download the .ZIP archive containing the mod.
- Paste the EvilShalame.dll file into
.../Hollow Knight Silksong/BepInEx/plugins - Launch the game and enjoy!
Current known issues
- Due to the way Shalame loads at startup, the main menu music is missing the first time you load up the game. This is explained by a phenomenon dubbed The Shalame Media Consumption, which revolves around Shalame's need to amass energy before he is summoned. Thus, he consumes the scene he's loaded from together with any available music. It is a necessary part of the experience. Without it, he would simply not be as strong.
- Sometimes, especially after exiting certain Bellway stations or just spawning into the game, Shalame may spawn to the far left of the current room. This is known as the Wandering Shalame, and needs not to be worried about. He will eventually catch up to you. He always does...
- In very rare cases, from what has been observed, when Shalame collides or is very close to the Bell Beast while fast travelling, he might despawn completely until you either die or reload the game. This phenomenon is known as the Phantom Shalame. You can remedy this by maneuvering around him to force him to be behind you as you jump on the Bell Beast. (or, if it happens and you don't want to restart, just bump the Shalames counter in the settings by 1)
