Portable Grill Mod

Bring grilling with you anywhere! Portable Grill Mod adds a compact campfire grill that fits in your hotbar. Carry it to your favorite fishing spot, deploy it on the ground, and cook your catch without traveling back to a permanent grill.

After the normal grill has been unlocked in your world, you can buy a Portable Grill for $2,500 from any money vendor. Its fire, smoke, sounds, and synchronized cooking behavior use the game's own grill systems, so it feels at home in How to Fish and works with Cooking Bell Timer.

How to use the Portable Grill

Buy	Look at a money vendor and press 7	Buys a Portable Grill for $2,500 and places it in a free hotbar slot.
Deploy	Hold the grill, aim at a surface within 8 metres, and hold E	Places and anchors the grill, then activates its fire, smoke, and sounds.
Cook	Put or drop a fish on the metal grate	Cooks the fish at 90% of the vanilla grill speed.
Pick up	Look at the deployed grill within 5 metres and hold E	Extinguishes the grill and returns it to empty hands or a free inventory slot.
Sell	Throw the grill into a vendor that buys items	Sells the grill for $1,250, half of its purchase price.

Where to buy it

The purchase option appears at every NPC who gives money for sold items. The host's world must have unlocked the normal vanilla grill first. Approach the vendor, look at them, and press 7 when the Buy Portable Grill prompt appears.

You need at least $2,500 and a free inventory slot. The purchase prompt has its own row and does not cover the prompts from Cooler Mod or Water Walking Boots. It also works when Portable Grill Mod is the only item mod installed.

Cooking and carrying

The Portable Grill uses the current vanilla grill cooking rate as its reference and applies a 0.90 multiplier. Fish retain their normal cooking state and multiplier, and multiplayer cooking remains synchronized through the game's normal item system.

Fire, smoke, crackling, and sizzling only run while the grill is deployed and the vanilla grill is unlocked. Picking the grill up extinguishes and clears those effects before it returns to your hands or hotbar.

The deployed grill is anchored so ordinary collisions and world cleanup cannot knock it away. You need empty hands or a free inventory slot to pick it up.

Multiplayer and compatibility

• Every player in the lobby should use the same Portable Grill Mod version.
• Compatible with Cooking Bell Timer through the normal synchronized Item.CookItem path.
• Does not require Cooler Mod, Turret Mod, Water Walking Boots, or Cooking Bell Timer.
• Uses item ID 247 and FishNet prefab collection 42423.

Installation

Install and enable the package with Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman, then launch How to Fish through the mod manager.
