Performance & FPS
Updated 5 days agoPerformance & FPS
Lethal Reloaded already ships with a performance stack tuned to keep things smooth (Lethal Performance, Sponge, Async Loggers, faster asset loading, pathfinding fixes and more). These tips are for getting the most out of it on your machine.
Quick wins
- Use an SSD - the single biggest fix for load stutter and freezes when landing. See System Requirements.
- Close background apps - browsers, Discord overlays, OBS and downloads all steal CPU and RAM. Close them before a session.
- Lower in-game graphics - drop resolution and quality in the game's own settings first, before touching anything else.
- Update your GPU drivers - old drivers cause both low FPS and crashes.
- Host on the strongest PC - the host carries the heaviest load each landing. A fast host means shorter freezes for everyone.
If you still struggle
- The heaviest moments are landing on a moon (loading the interior) and busy facilities with lots of enemies. Stutter there is mostly load and CPU, not your frame rate.
- A weak GPU borrows system RAM for textures, so an older card will both stutter more and use more RAM. There's no config fix for that, only lighter graphics settings or better hardware.
- If one player in your crew is on a much weaker machine, the whole session can feel less stable. That player should lower their graphics and play wired.
What you should not do
- Don't remove mods to "save FPS" - the pack is balanced and version-locked as a whole. Removing mods can cause crashes and multiplayer desyncs, and rarely gives the FPS you'd expect. See the FAQ.
- Don't stack other performance mods on top - the pack already includes a tuned set. Adding more can conflict.
