RedactedLootBug
Replaces normal Hoarding Bug chatter with Redacted. Supports editable WAV and OGG chatter clips.Redacted Loot Bug
Give the Hoarding Bug a new voice: Redacted replaces its normal chatter with a custom sound.
The bug keeps its normal behavior and chatter timing. Angry sounds stay unchanged.
Installation
Install with Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman. BepInExPack is the only required dependency.
If you used the locally imported test version, uninstall that entry before installing the published package.
Disable YippeeMod and other mods that replace the Hoarding Bug's normal chatter, then launch modded.
For a manual BepInEx installation, extract the package's BepInEx folder into the Lethal Company game folder beside the executable.
Multiplayer
This is a client-side sound replacement. Each player who wants to hear the sound needs to install the mod. The host does not distribute the audio to other players.
Custom chatter
Find RedactedLootBug.dll in your profile's BepInEx/plugins folder, then open Audio/Chatter beside it.
- Replace
Redacted.wavto use a different sound. - Add more 16-bit PCM WAV files to include more chatter clips. The game selects from the available clips.
- OGG files are also supported through Unity's audio loader.
- File names can be anything. Restart the game after changing sounds.
Leave the folder empty to use the game's original chatter. Other WAV encodings are rejected and reported in the log; export WAV clips as 16-bit PCM.
Troubleshooting
- Chatter happens when a bug notices a player. It does not play continuously.
- With Imperium, turn Invisibility and Untargetable off when testing; those settings can prevent the normal chatter trigger. God Mode can remain on.
- Test inside a generated facility where the bug's AI can navigate normally.
- Check
BepInEx/LogOutput.logfor messages from Redacted Loot Bug. Successful loading reportsLoaded 1 chatter clip(s); successful assignment reportsApplied custom chatter to a Hoarding Bug. - Ensure only one copy of this plugin is installed and disable competing chatter replacements.
