LCGoldScrap Lite

An experimental fork of Simon Tendo's LCGoldScrapMod 2.2.7, focused on finding valuable gold scrap and using three shop tools. It retains 50 natural gold scrap types with their existing interactions.

Package version: 1.0.3. Internal plugin version: 2.2.7.4. Target game version: Lethal Company v81. Update every player together.

Retained tools

Tool Default base price Purpose
Golden Hourglass 133 Slows the day's passage of time using the original tool behavior.
Golden Ticket 50 Preserves carried items during teleportation, retaining the original normal/inverse teleporter and ticket-consumption rules.
Golden Glove 800 Retains its three combat and remote-item-handling abilities.

Enter gold store in the terminal to view the tools, an item's English name to buy it, or its name followed by info for details. gold scrap displays a short overview.

Disabled content

The other 17 store entries are removed from shop offers and purchase entry points:

Group Entries
Suits, furniture, and interactive objects Bronze Suit, Silver Suit, Gold Suit, Golden Throne, Gold Trophy, Gold Medal, Groovy Gold, Gold Toilet, Goldfather Clock
Mining items Golden Pickaxe, Gold Nugget, Gold Ore
Other store items Gold Crown, Credits Card, Directory LOG, Cat o Gold, Safe Box

This fork also disables Gold Fever and its rewards, Gold Sale, mining-node generation, special-date triggers and password overrides, active story-log generation and related independent XML persistence, random player tags, optional joke-sound replacements, selectable prototype models, and the optional extra Gold Crate integration.

Vanilla sounds and models are preferred where available, with necessary fallbacks retained. The useful or dangerous interactions of the 50 natural scrap types remain.

The original goldscrapassetbundle is reused. Disabled content still exists in that bundle. Global item and ship-unlockable identities are retained for existing objects, while retired item offers are excluded from the purchase catalog and retired furniture has no shop selection node. This does not depend on English display names or terminal text filtering. Purchase-menu indices can change, so every player must use the same version. This fork does not reduce the asset bundle's size or automatically remove old items from saves. Retaining identities is not a guarantee of safe migration from an original-mod save.

Configuration

Edit BepInEx/config/GoldScrapLite.cfg, or use LethalConfig if installed. Restart the game after changes. There are 115 active settings: 11 original global settings, 1 compatibility setting, 3 tool prices, and 2 settings for each of the 50 natural scrap types.

CONFIG_EXAMPLE.cfg in the download is a reference copy of the defaults, not the active configuration file.

When the new file does not exist, an existing BepInEx/config/LCGoldScrapMod.cfg is copied to GoldScrapLite.cfg to migrate your settings. An existing GoldScrapLite.cfg is never overwritten by this migration, and the old file is not deleted. After migration, edit GoldScrapLite.cfg; subsequent changes to the old file are not synchronized. The plugin GUID remains LCGoldScrapMod despite the new configuration filename.

Tool prices

Each tool has BasePrice in its own section: Shop - GoldenHourglass, Shop - GoldenTicket, or Shop - GoldenGlove.

  • Defaults are 133, 50, and 800 credits respectively.
  • 0 means free. Prices cannot be negative.
  • Final price = individual BasePrice × global Multiplier Price, converted to whole credits. Setting the global multiplier to 0 makes all three tools free.
  • The host sends the final prices to clients. Clients do not apply the multiplier a second time.

IndustrialGoldSafe compatibility

Compatibility / Disable Natural Spawns With IndustrialGoldSafe defaults to true.

  • When IndustrialGoldSafe is also loaded, gold scrap does not spawn naturally on vanilla or modded moons. Safe rewards, shop tools and existing items remain available.
  • Set this option to false to allow both safe rewards and natural gold scrap. Existing moon selection and per-item spawn settings still apply.
  • Without IndustrialGoldSafe, this option has no effect on natural spawning. IndustrialGoldSafe is not a required dependency.
  • The host controls this behavior. The loaded plugin GUID is checked at generation time; the mods' dependency order is unchanged.

During natural scrap generation, gold entries are temporarily excluded from the level pool, including the game's special single-item and boosted-item selection paths. The original pool and boosted-item index are restored afterward, including when generation throws. Gold item registrations and the safe reward pool are not removed.

Individual scrap spawning

Each natural scrap type has a Scrap - <folderName> section, using its stable asset folder name:

Setting Default Meaning
Enabled true Allows this item to spawn naturally.
SpawnWeightMultiplier 1 Multiplies this item's spawn weight; allowed range: 0–100.

These are relative weights, not spawn percentages or guaranteed item counts. A multiplier of 1 retains the existing weight; 2 doubles it. Actual appearance depends on other items in the pool, the game's selection process, and integer weight calculations.

Setting Enabled = false or SpawnWeightMultiplier = 0 prevents natural spawning. It does not delete existing items. Positive multipliers still respect global spawn settings and moon restrictions.

The original global controls remain: vanilla moon selection, minimum/maximum value multipliers, spawn-weight and carry-weight settings, the shared tool-price multiplier, modded-moon spawn settings and travel-cost threshold, terminal scan behavior, and the original tool-balance option. Their defaults are unchanged; all new item switches start enabled with a multiplier of 1.

Multiplayer and installation

  • Every player needs the same Lite fork version and asset bundle. Do not install this fork alongside the original LCGoldScrapMod or mix the two in one lobby. They share the plugin GUID LCGoldScrapMod and original assembly identity.
  • The host controls natural spawning and effective tool prices. Client-side configuration values do not override the host; the client's local settings screen is not a display of the lobby's effective configuration.
  • Joining clients cannot purchase these tools until host settings and final prices have been applied.
  • When using a local ZIP, each player must import it separately. r2modman profile codes do not embed a locally imported mod's DLL or asset bundle. A published Thunderstore package can instead be downloaded through its package listing.

Verification status

Offline checks cover real BepInEx configuration binding, production spawn and store policies, Unity Netcode post-processing, original RPC identities, and assembly metadata. Game-facing fixture stand-ins are supporting evidence, not multiplayer acceptance.

The 1.0.3 store repair was also checked inside the real v81 game with the loaded asset bundle and native terminal formatting. Two real localhost LAN game processes then ran an isolated copy of the current development modpack. Both existing ship terminals contained exactly the three retained gold tools, preserved the twelve retired furniture identities without shop offers, and had no retired gold purchase nodes reachable through their keyword and confirmation graphs. Host configuration and effective tool prices were ready on both peers. IndustrialGoldSafe rewards resolved to matching object IDs and initial values on both peers.

The LAN test automated movement, aiming and native E/Space inputs. It did not exercise actual shop purchase and delivery, cross-computer Steam play, 5–8-player sessions, reconnects, late joins, or save migration. Compatibility with other modpacks remains dependent on their contents.
