Baby Lurker

The Baby Lurker is a custom monster added by Welcome to Ooblterra, that appears indoors in the Oobl Laboratory.

Description

Baby Lurkers are small, spiderlike creatures with 8 legs and a singular glowing eye. Baby Lurkers make a loud, deep breathing noise while active, and a loud wet splash upon impact.

Baby Lurkers have a tiny red map dot on the ship radar.

Strategy

Once a set of Baby Lurkers has been spawned in, they will begin chasing down the player who triggered them, and then throw themselves at that player once they are close enough. They can best be defeated by strafing left and right while they throw themselves at the player; they are highly likely to miss. A player can also try to get high ground and bait the Baby Lurkers, though not all of them will always end up jumping this way.

If a player instead chooses to leave the facility, the Baby Lurkers will pick another player and do their best to chase them down. For this reason, this method isn't recommended; that other target player will likely end up dying before they figure out what hit them.
