Basicmods 2.0.0
Configured vanilla+ modpack. Bugfixes, QOL, multiplayer upgrades, fun. Stability is never guaranteed with mods, but effort has definitely been made here to ensure minimal issues while avoiding conflicts.
It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED to make a fresh modpack profile every time the pack updates, especially if mods have been noted to be removed in the changelogs.
v55/56 READY SINCE 2.0.0.
The information below has not been updated 1.7.0. I'll get to it at some point, would rather just get this update for now. In the meantime, check the changelog for the latest info.
Noteworthy mods
- LethalUtils
- MoreSuits
- AlwaysHearActiveWalkies
- BetterSprayPaint
- DiscJockey (custom boombox audio)
- HDLethalCompany (graphics improvements - optional)
- Helmet_Cameras (visible from ship)
- Flashlight hotkey (F)
- LethalSnap (you can buy a camera and take spooky photos, maybe even sell them)
- More_Emotes
- MoreCompany

- Reserved item slots - for flashlights, walkies, weapons, ammo, keys, and utility items
- LobbyControl (for late joining)
- LethalFixes, Matty_Fixes, TestAccountFixes, ButteryStancakes fixes and many other bugfix mods
The rest is mostly small improvements or stuff you probably won't notice like libraries and fixes.
What do I need to know in-game?
- If you want to, you can go into the LethalConfig menu and play around with the graphics settings for HDLethalCompany. By default they're set fairly low to maintain a more vanilla-like experience.
- On the main menu, you can click the green icon at the bottom right on the main menu to apply cosmetics to your character. Now with more options.
- Your starting credits will scale up as more players join you.
- Press [ALT] to switch from your vanilla item slots to the modded reserved slots. You can cycle through and interact with Alt slot items as normal, eg. turning your walkie talkie on or charging your flashlight.
- A hotkey has been added to toggle your flashlight [F].
- As long as you've turned it on, you can send and hear transmissions from a walkie-talkie in any of your item slots without needing to pull it out or activate it.
- The scanner has had some upgrades, and you can now click and hold to scan continuously.
- You don't need to switch to a key to unlock doors.
- Your equipment will recharge automatically and wirelessly when you enter orbit.
- With a spray can equipped, you can switch colours with [T]. You can erase paint by holding [E] while left clicking. [+] and [-] adjust the spray size.
- Press and hold [V] to open the emote wheel. The top row number keys function as shortcuts for the emotes all the way up to 0.
- There's a hotkey [P] to switch between first person and third person view while spectating, although cosmetics may cause issues with the first person view if you don't disable them. You can zoom in and out in third person with the scroll wheel.
- You can zoom in to see distant objects with [Z].
- The left and right arrow keys can be used in the terminal to change the observed crew member. (I didn't test this yet)
- [8]/[9] can be used to decrease/increase mic noise suppression. Use [PageUp]/[PageDown] to enable/disable if needed.
- For compatibility reasons (with my other modpack), masked enemies don't wear masks any more... beware!
Other notes
- All polaroid pictures are saved in the folder:
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Lethal Company\PolaroidPictures
or more generally: [path-to-the-game]\LethalCompany\PolaroidPictures
- The boombox can stream custom tracks from a folder on your computer. Be warned, as of the current version adding too many audio files will consume a lot of RAM and may crash your game. But details on how to set up tracks are here: https://thunderstore.io/c/lethal-company/p/Yoshify/DiscJockey/
Known issues
- There may be an incompatibility between HDLethalCompany and Loadstone and some errors get thrown, but it hasn't caused any actual issues so far that I've seen.
- AlwaysActiveWalkie is kind of glitchy in swapping between radio and in-person voice. I tried playing with the config but I don't think I can fix this. The functionality of the mod is too good to pass up so just deal with it I guess lol.
Troubleshooting
- If the modpack updates and mods have been removed, your mod manager may not automatically delete them from your profile. You'll probably see mod mismatches if you try to play in multiplayer and you may encounter game breaking bugs. I'd recommend a fresh modpack installation to ensure you don't keep unused mods.
- It appears that having a large number of custom songs set up for discjockey demands a LOT of extra memory usage. You may experience crashes or slow load times. If affected, reduce the number of songs you put in the custom songs folder.
- There is a weird interaction between the boombox and (I suspect) the AlwaysHearActiveWalkie mods that has occurred in the past. I think as long as you keep dropped active walkies some distance away from the boombox there will be no issues. Hopefully.
