Purchasable furniture that retreives equipment lost on death, including belt bag contents. Dying is punishing enough! Interact with the trash can after a mission to empty it. Host and all clients required.Lost and Found
Version 0.1.9 — for Lethal Company v81
A purchasable furniture item that retreives employee equipment that would normally be lost upon death. Dying is punishing enough, you shouldn't lose your belt bag full of equipment too! Interact with the trash can after a mission to empty its contents. Host and all clients required.
An amber light on the lid blinks when the bin contains recovered items ready to retrieve. The light stays off while empty.
How it works
- Buy Lost and Found from the terminal store’s ship upgrades for 200 credits. The bin starts in the middle of the ship. Press B to move it using normal furniture controls.
- Equipment held at death is tracked in normal inventory slots, extra inventory slots, the v81 utility slot, and inside carried belt bags.
- Once the bin is purchased, at departure eligible items are collected into the bin. Non-scrap equipment and terminal store items qualify; ordinary scrap is left behind.
- Revival does not cancel recovery. Equipment picked up by any living player, including its revived owner, is removed from the recovery list.
- Picking up a belt bag also removes its contents from the recovery list. If the new holder dies, their equipment is tracked again.
- After an item has been picked up, voluntarily dropping it does not make it eligible again. It must be part of a new death drop.
- Look at the bin and press E to dump all available contents onto the floor in front of it. Rebound controls follow your game settings.
Unclaimed contents are saved with the host's save file, including native item save data and battery charge. Contents survive a team wipe and are cleared when the ship is reset after being fired. Storing the furniture does not empty the bin; retrieve it using the terminal's storage menu.
Installation
The host and every client need this mod, BepInExPack, and LethalLib 1.2.0 or newer. LethalSmokes is not required.
Install with your mod manager, or copy the ZIP's LostAndFound folder into BepInEx/plugins in your game directory or mod manager profile folder. Restart the game after installing.
Compatibility notes
The mod collects existing dropped items; it cannot recover equipment already destroyed, consumed, or removed by another mod before collection. Belt bag equipment is also recovered, including nested belt bags that use the native bag system. The bin returns the bag and its eligible contents as separate loose items. Other container types are not supported. If a bag has excluded or unsupported contents, the bag stays in place with those remaining items. Modded items retain the data their native save hook supports; custom state outside that hook may not be preserved. Missing item definitions remain saved in the bin until their mod is available again.
This mod has compilation, logic, and API checks. Live multiplayer and save/reload testing are still needed. To test, have a client die holding equipment in both normal and utility slots, depart, and empty the bin after returning to orbit. Also test saving with unclaimed contents.
Version 0.1.9 restricts collection to actual ship departure and cancels pending replacements when their original items are retrieved. Revival alone never collects items. If something fails, provide the host's and affected client's BepInEx/LogOutput.log files. Look for Death confirmed, Collection [, and Emptying Lost and Found to identify whether tracking, collection, or retrieval failed.
