Freecam

Client-side, should work on both community and official (vanilla) servers.

This mod lets you move your camera anywhere as if you were noclipping, but without moving your actual body. Each time you activate the camera it is spawned at your eye position.

Pressing 7 should toggle the camera. This button can be rebound.

The camera can be controlled with the default movement controls (mouse, WSAD, lshift, lctrl). Pressing left and right mouse button lets you cycle through the current locations of other players (functionality added by CatOrNot, for the sake of spectating bots).

In order to rebind these buttons, you will need to manually change them inside the freecam.nut file (it can be opened with any text editor). You will also find some additional settings there.

Known issues:

  • Increased exposure or different colour correction, so far I've been unable to fix this as the usual functions do not seem to affect ClientSidePointCamera.
  • Slight camera shake after ascending - this is due to jumping still being enabled, that shake happens when your body hits the ground. Can be solved by binding the camera movement to other buttons, I kept it like that since I like the default movement keybinds.
  • Potential glitches when going into/out of kill replay with the cam toggled on, they're likely fixed by now since I wasn't able to reproduce the issue, but in case it does happen, you'll need to manually reset your movement inputs by typing -forward, -back, -moveleft, -moveright, -duck into the console (cl_always_draw_3p_player 0 too if you keep seeing your model).

In case of any other bugs or issues, please contact me through the Northstar discord server.

This mod has not been tested on singleplayer, so it is disabled there by default. If you want to try it out there, you'll need to remove && MP from mod.json.

Big thanks to CatOrNot and ASillyNeko for contributing to the mod.
