🚀 Quick start

1. Install TogetherPlus with r2modman / the Thunderstore app (BepInEx is installed automatically).
2. Start the game and join or host a lobby.
3. Press Page Up (or click the small TogetherPlus Menu button) – everything is set up in that menu, no config files needed.

💡 The Commands tab in the menu lists every chat command. Tab completes commands, player names and settings.

💬 Chat & social

• Chat – timestamps, text outline, chat stays visible, highlight + sound when somebody writes your name
• Chat plus – message history (arrow up/down), emoji picker (inserts the :code:) and :emoji: codes, clickable links, word filter, typing indicator (a small badge below the chat, with the typers' name gradients)
• Delete lines – a red X in front of every chat line: staff and the author delete it for everybody with the mod, others hide it for themselves
• Join / Leave alerts – chat line and sound when players join or leave, special alert for friends
• Lobby To-Do – shared to-do list for the whole lobby, the button can be dragged anywhere
• Lobby tools – lobby info and rules, lobby search field, notice when a Steam friend is hosting
• Lobby name colour – colour, gradient or rainbow for the name of lobbies you create, visible in the lobby list of everybody, also without the mod

• Time of day – morning, day, evening or night, with stars, moon and fireflies at night
• Camp – campfire, glass lanterns with a candle, firefly jars, string lights, tents, blankets and log seats, or a whole set at once; lights glow softly and get brighter when it gets dark
• Ambience – birds, crickets, waves, wind and calm background music
• Map lamps & Christmas tree – warm lamp light at night, a tree with presents in winter

🌍 Seasons and time of day only change your own screen – nobody else is affected.

🎨 Boards

• 48 extra colours – a full palette for chalk and white boards; players without the mod see the closest chalk colour
• Drawing tools – pen, line, box, oval and text, four thicknesses, filled shapes
• Your layout – drag the small tab above the palette or the tool bar to move it (right-click resets)

🛡️ For hosts

• Moderation – lock the global chat, give roles (Helper / Mod), mute, kick and ban with a reason
• Rules – write lobby rules in the menu, everybody can read them with /rules
• Player limit – up to 128 players in Create Game (up to 249 with /maxplayers)

⚠️ Moderation works for everybody in the lobby (also without the mod) – but the host must run TogetherPlus.

⚙️ Settings

Everything is changed in the in-game menu. The settings live in BepInEx/TogetherPlus/; the file in BepInEx/config only holds a short note, so your mod manager's config editor stays clean.

❓ Good to know

• Teleport can fail if the other player is far away and not loaded yet.
• The player limit only affects lobbies you create.
• AFK fishing needs one manual cast first and you have to stand still.
• Seasons and decorations are visual only and depend on the game's maps.
• Deleted chat lines stay visible for players without the mod: the game itself has no way to delete a message, and the mod can only change the screens of players who run it.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

🌈 My name gradient shows above my head but bugged in the chat

Cause: the chat takes your name from the game's own save data (the player file). If you changed your name by hand in the player file, the game can end up with different names in its copies (playerdata, oldplayerdata, backupplayerdata) and in the Steam Cloud. Above your head the mod sees your current name, but the chat can still use the old, different one – so the gradient is not applied there.

Fix (reported and confirmed by a player):

1. Close the game completely.
2. Make sure the new name is written the same way in all player files: playerdata, and also oldplayerdata and backupplayerdata if they exist. Either update the name in each of them, or delete oldplayerdata and backupplayerdata and keep only the updated playerdata.
3. If the problem stays: uninstall the game, delete / update the leftover files as in step 2, then install it again.
4. When the game starts and asks whether to use the Cloud or Local files (because they do not match), choose Local.

Why this works: Steam picks the player file that matches the one in the cloud. If an old or backup file still holds the previous name, Steam can bring that one back – and the chat shows the old name again.

💡 Back up your player files before you edit them. Players without the mod see the gradient in the chat as soon as the name is correct.

📌 Always use the latest version. Older versions may contain bugs or unfinished features. r2modman shows you when an update is available, and TogetherPlus tells you in the chat too.

Chat & emoji

• Emoji are built into the mod as colour pictures: all 45 emoji of the picker show in the chat the same on every PC, no matter which fonts are installed
• Emoji the chat cannot show are removed instead of showing an empty box
• Emoji list cleaned up: :cry: (same as :sob:), :+1: (same as :thumbsup:) and :dog: removed
• Emoji picker: a click puts the :code: into the chat box and your typed text is kept, also with several emoji in a row
• Typing indicator: new badge below the chat panel, no longer on top of the chat text, with the typing player's name gradient

Lobby

• New: lobby name colour – colour, gradient or rainbow for the lobbies you create, right in the Create Game panel (button Name colour, with live preview) or in the menu under Social; everybody sees it in the lobby list, also without the mod

World & camp

• Camp lantern rebuilt: glass lantern with brass trim, a candle with a moving flame, warm glow and a soft cone of light
• String lights rebuilt: wooden posts, a sagging wire, sockets and glass bulbs that twinkle softly; even light with warm patches on the ground
• Camp lights are dim in daylight and get brighter at dusk and at night
• Night: no more stripes on character faces

Moving around

• Sneaking (Ctrl): your character now ducks down, not just walks slower

Help

• New troubleshooting section: name gradient missing in the chat after editing the player file by hand
