Chat Range

Shows who's close enough to see your local chat messages, in a small list above the chat box while its Local tab is open. Only you need it.

Open with Open chat on its Local tab
Who needs it Only you

Not fully tested: the list hasn't been tried in the game yet.

Local chat messages (and their chat bubbles) only reach players within 5 m of you, counting height too. While the chat box is open on its Local tab, a small box just above it lists everyone in that range, with their names styled the way their name tags are. It says so when nobody's close enough. If the chat box is dragged to the top of the screen, the list sits beside it instead.

The list hides when chat is minimised or the game's UI is hidden. In Photo Mode it shows only while the chat box does, and it stays out of your photos. Someone who has muted you is still listed, but won't see your messages. The speech bubble icon switches the list off and on. ShowOnGlobalTab in the settings file shows the list on the Global tab too, and MaxNames sets how many names it lists before counting the rest.

The icon

Like the other mods in this set, Chat Range puts a small pixel-art icon in a row at the bottom-right of the screen. Click it to do what the mod's key does (or to switch the mod on and off, for mods without a key), and hover over it to see its name and key. A green dot means it's on, and a greyed-out icon means it's off. The row only shows in a world, while no game menu is open.

Settings

After the first launch, the settings are in BepInEx/config/nelphei.ontogether.chatrange.cfg. In r2modman or Gale, open them from the config editor. Each setting has a comment explaining it. Restart the game after changing them. ShowIcon hides the mod's icon.

Mac

Install it through r2modmac. The mods haven't been tried on a Mac yet.
