Pal Insight
Inspect Pals, search your Palbox, and view IVs, capture counts, speeds, drops and condensation progress in native UI panels. Configurable displays for Palworld 1.0.Changelog
v2.7.2 - 2026-10-27
Fixed
-
Fixed progressive reveal hiding information in party, hatching results, Palbox, condenser, expedition, and disassembly panels. It now applies only to LAlt inspection and Potential on world health bars.
-
Fixed Escape failing to close Settings after closing Special Thanks or other nested windows.
v2.7.1 - 2026-10-27
Changed
- Expanded the Partner Skill description area to match a full three-skill Active Skills section, so more text is visible before scrolling.
Fixed
-
Active Skills now use only the rows needed, removing empty space above Passive Skills when fewer than three skills are equipped. The panel height adjusts when switching skill pages.
-
Fixed an issue where confirming a number with Enter in Settings could also open the in-game chat.
v2.7.0 - 2026-10-27
Added
-
Hover over a Pal in the Palbox, Pal Essence Condenser, Pal Expedition Station, or Pal Disassembly Conveyor to see the same detailed information as in the LAlt inspection panel, including Potential, capture and storage counts, movement speeds, drops, and more. Content and panel size follow your LAlt settings. Each of the four interfaces can be disabled separately; all are enabled by default.
-
Condensation progress now appears below the stars as current progress / total required for the next star. The numbers cover only the current star level, not the cumulative total from zero stars. Progress is hidden at four stars and can be disabled separately in settings.
-
While holding LAlt to inspect a Pal, press C to switch between the Partner Skill description and Active Skills without moving the information below. The four facility screens share their last selection; LAlt remembers its own. Choices reset when the game restarts. Enable both Partner Skill and Active Skills; if Progressive Reveal is enabled, unlock both sections first.
Changed
-
Palpedia numbers are now controlled by the number option under Panel Content; the separate detail-number option has been removed.
-
Adjusted the appearance of the merchant-search setting and the No passive skills option, along with mouse and controller focus indicators in the passive-skill list.
-
Improved game terminology, feature descriptions, and Expedition Power explanations in all 17 interface languages.
-
Updated the community acknowledgements.
v2.6.0 - 2026-10-11
Added
Pal selling gets a major upgrade: search and batch-select multiple species
Pal Merchants and Black Marketeers now support search on the Sell tab, with easier batch selection:
- Right-click one Pal, then press F to select all saleable Pals of the same species on this page.
- Right-click a Pal of another species, then press F to add that species to your sale list.
- Selections stay when you change pages or searches. Confirm once to sell them together.
Press F again after batch selection to deselect that species on this page. Right-clicking another species makes F target that species.
Enable: Settings → Palbox Search → Pal Merchant (selling).
After a sale attempt, reopen the shop to resume search and batch selection. Tested in single-player; multiplayer has not yet been tested.
v2.5.4 - 2026-10-04
Added
- Added a "No passive skills" option at the top of the pink-beacon passive selector. It highlights wild Pals with no passive skills and can be combined with other selected passives using OR matching.
v2.5.3 - 2026-10-02
Fixed
- Improved inspection-panel layout stability when switching between Party and world inspection. Panels stop updating after a layout failure instead of repeatedly retrying.
- Fixed Party skill display and inspection tracking not being restored after an inspection-panel failure.
- Completed missing translations in the in-game version history.
- Fixed the configured inspection-panel scale not being applied when the panel is first created.
- Fixed delayed checkmarks when selecting or deselecting passive skills for pink beacons.
Performance
- Reduced unnecessary world HP-gauge processing, especially while Progressive Reveal is disabled.
Changed
- Updated the Discord link and contributor acknowledgements in About.
v2.5.2 - 2026-09-21
Fixed
- Fixed a Condenser Search problem where choosing a base Pal after changing pages made every Pal on that page unavailable. Other usable Pals can still be chosen, and the base Pal can be cleared normally.
- Fixed Condenser Search sometimes no longer responding. You can now keep searching, changing pages, and choosing Pals without closing and reopening the Condenser.
- Escape now closes only the window in front of you. It no longer opens Palworld's menu at the same time or makes the next Escape press stop working. This also fixes the Quick Stack and Breeding Link panels opened from Settings.
v2.5.1 - 2026-09-13
Fixed
- Fixed Escape sometimes being ignored for several seconds after closing F6 Settings or closing a Palbox screen while Search was active. The closing press remains isolated from underlying menus, while later presses now respond normally.
v2.5.0 - 2026-09-13
Added
- Added searchable passive-skill filtering for pink target beacons. Skills use their localized in-game names and are grouped into World Tree, Prismatic, Gold, Common, and Negative traits. A Pal matches when it has any selected skill (OR). With no skills selected, the pink passive-skill rule remains inactive.
- Added an optional setting to show species base HP, Attack, and Defense alongside the corresponding values in the LAlt inspection panel.
- Added single-key F13-F24 binding support for Settings, inspection, Palbox Search, and Potential Vision shortcuts.
Changed
- Visible LAlt inspection stats now refresh automatically when buffs or Boost Gun Attack/Defense enhancement rates change; pressing LAlt again is no longer required.
Performance
- The passive-skill picker reuses prepared controls and cached skill data when reopened, reducing repeated loading work.
Notes
- Passive-skill selection has no fixed limit. Selecting more skills matches more Pals and can reach the shared target-beacon display limit sooner. Eight or fewer is recommended.
v2.4.2 - 2026-09-10
Fixed
- Fixed Party detail browsing sometimes allowing only one previous/next move. The detail data and 3D preview now finish settling before the next move is processed.
v2.4.1 - 2026-09-10
Fixed
- Fixed previous/next browsing in Party details updating the Pal's name and stats without updating its 3D preview.
- Party browsing now waits for the correct model capture to finish before processing another queued move.
v2.4.0 - 2026-09-09
Added
- Added optional previous/next Pal browsing inside open detail pages. It supports Party, Palbox, Pal Disassembly Conveyor, Pal Expedition Station, Pal Essence Condenser, and filtered Palbox Search results. Use A/D or Left/Right on keyboard, or L1/R1 on a controller.
- Extended the Expedition Power breakdown to the Palbox, Pal Essence Condenser, and Pal Disassembly Conveyor. Each supported facility can be enabled independently; the newly supported locations are disabled by default.
Improved
- Expanded the Expedition Power explanation to distinguish values actually used by expeditions from differences that apply only in Pal Details.
- Clarified that long-range target pillars only extend the visibility of targets that have already spawned; they cannot reveal Pals before they spawn.
Fixed
- Fixed Palbox Search sometimes not appearing on the first visit to the Pal Essence Condenser after searching in the Pal Expedition Station.
- Fixed clicked settings entries sometimes retaining an outdated selection highlight.
- Fixed a rare fallback path where F6 could open Settings without correctly retaining controller input.
Notes
- Detail-page browsing is disabled by default. Each move fully refreshes Palworld's native detail page, so rapid switching may briefly flicker and reduce frame rate.
- Disable this option when using another mod that provides detail-page browsing.
v2.3.0 - 2026-09-09
Added
- Added a native-style Expedition Power breakdown when hovering Pals in the Expedition Station, including the assigned-Pal list. It clearly shows how HP ÷ 5, Attack, Defense, and the Condensation multiplier combine into the final Expedition Power.
- When Pal Details show different stats, the panel explains where the difference comes from, including Passive Skills, Partner Skills, food, Souls, Enhancement, Awakening, Friendship, and rounding. Level, Potential, Alpha, Lucky, and Souls are also shown for reference without implying that they are counted twice.
- Added an
F6 > Palboxswitch for the breakdown. It is enabled by default and supports all 17 interface languages.
Performance
- Reduced the wait for the first Palbox Search results, especially with large Pal collections.
Fixed
- Fixed Tab also opening the inventory after the Palbox Search shortcut was changed to another key such as Ctrl+F.
v2.2.2 - 2026-09-07
Fixed
- Restored Palbox Search controls and filtered-result paging across the Palbox, Pal Expedition Station, Pal Essence Condenser, and Pal Disassembly Conveyor. Results now refresh correctly with Q/E, page guides remain visible, and the Essence Condenser again shows the blue base-Pal selection indicator.
- Fixed F6 sometimes requiring a second press to open Settings, and Escape or controller Back sometimes remaining blocked after closing Settings.
- Fixed Party hover details sometimes reusing the capture count from the previously inspected Pal.
v2.2.1 - 2026-09-07
Fixed
- Fixed Palworld crashing during startup after the game was updated to version 1.0.4.
v2.2.0 - 2026-09-07
Added
- Added Breeding Link to the Extensions page. Installed extensions now open their own settings panels, while missing extensions provide the appropriate download destination for the current release platform.
Changed
- Simplified About to focus on Pal Insight, its creator and contributors, community links, and support.
- Standardized status colors across Pal Insight and its extensions: green for success, yellow for warnings, red for errors, blue for processing, and neutral white when no action is needed.
- Extension settings are now owned by each extension. Pal Insight provides the shared entry point and coordinates input and focus between panels.
- Companion-mod settings now reuse Pal Insight's on-screen control guide instead of maintaining separate copies. This keeps input hints and controller icons consistent and allows future improvements to benefit every extension.
- Opening an extension's settings now hides the underlying Pal Insight window. The previous page and state are restored when the extension closes.
Removed
- Removed previous and next Pal switching from Palbox, Party, and search-result detail pages, restoring the game's native input behavior on those screens.
Fixed
- Fixed the extension handoff that could prevent the Quick Stack settings panel from opening.
v2.1.1 - 2026-09-05
Fixes
- F6 and F7 no longer activate from the main menu or while a save is loading.
v2.1.0 - 2026-09-05
Added
- Added previous/next Pal navigation inside an open detail page. Palbox, Party, and search-result details can be browsed with Left/Right or A/D on keyboard, and with the shoulder buttons, D-pad, or left stick on a controller.
- Added independent world-beacon visibility controls for showing light pillars from farther away and keeping them visible at close range.
- Added localized in-game release history from
v1.0.0onward, opened by selecting the version number in the settings header.
Performance
- Normal Palbox searches no longer build the learned Active Skill index up front. That work is deferred until Active Skill search is selected and is processed in bounded 1 ms slices.
Fixes
- Discarded queued global shortcut presses across key-binding capture, including cancelled captures and selecting the existing binding. The registration grace period now also rejects presses before they enter the game-thread queue.
- Changing only the Potential Vision keyboard shortcut no longer reapplies the inspection panel. Configuration saving and shortcut hints still update.
v2.0.2 - 2026-09-05
Fixes
- Fixed Pal Essence Condenser search results not updating correctly after a successful condensation. The current search is preserved and refreshed after the success message is closed.
- Removed list flicker during that refresh. The previous results stay visible until the updated results are ready, with outdated interactions disabled.
- Prevented repeated refreshes when the search field loses focus, and improved recovery when clearing the search, closing the menu, or opening settings.
v2.0.1 - 2026-09-03
Fixes
- Fixed movement remaining locked after opening Quick Stack from Pal Insight's Extensions page and then closing both settings windows with their close buttons. Pal Insight now records the input mode it actually restores, so a hosted extension's temporary UI-only state cannot be reused by the next settings session.
v2.0.0 - 2026-09-03
Pal Insight 2.0.0 adds the foundation for independently updated companion mods, expands inspection to the Party page, and addresses the multiplayer search and recurring-stutter reports received after 1.8.0.
Upgrade and compatibility
- Existing Pal Insight settings remain compatible. You can update directly
from
1.8.0; no manual configuration migration is required. - Pal Insight: Quick Stack remains an optional, independently installed mod. Pal Insight does not bundle it, copy its settings, or perform any item transfers itself.
Settings and extensions
- Reorganized
F6into eight categories:Insight,Content,Progression,HUD,Potential,Palbox,Extensions, andControls. Related settings now share one page, while the fixed header actions, tab arrows, input guides, and mouse/keyboard/controller navigation remain available throughout the window. - Added a versioned
Extensionspage where compatible companion mods can be detected and configured through their own settings panels. This provides a foundation for future first-party extensions without crowding Pal Insight's own settings pages. - Pal Insight: Quick Stack
1.0.0can now be fully configured in game, including its shortcut, notifications, item rules, special-item routing, and the World Tree Holy Water minimum for each recycler. These controls remain owned and persisted by Quick Stack's separately updated settings panel. - Missing or outdated Quick Stack installations show the current package's platform icon and open the appropriate Steam Workshop, Nexus Mods, or CurseForge download/update page. Unknown and Game Pass channels remain unavailable instead of guessing a storefront.
- When both mods are active, Pal Insight owns
F6and opens Quick Stack fromExtensions; standalone Quick Stack still opens its own settings withF6, and its gameplay action remainsF5. If Pal Insight is installed but disabled, Quick Stack correctly falls back to standalone settings. - Hosted extension panels now use the same mouse, keyboard, and controller interaction model as Pal Insight, block input from reaching gameplay, return focus to the originating Extensions row when closed, and support all 17 Palworld interface languages.
Party inspection
- Added an optional compact Pal detail panel when hovering a Pal on the Party
page. It appears at the upper right, follows supported Panel Content settings,
omits Partner Skills and item drops to fit the available space, and can be
moved horizontally with a
-80–80offset.
Palbox search
- Partner Skill searches now match both the localized skill name and its localized description.
- Active Skill searches now include every skill learned and equipable by the Pal, rather than only the three skills currently equipped.
- Fixed incomplete Palbox search results for non-host multiplayer clients. When remote pages have not been replicated locally, Pal Insight now synchronizes the missing pages before publishing the search index. It returns to the original page afterward unless the player changes pages during the operation.
- Improved recovery when Palbox pages, menus, sessions, or worlds change while synchronization is in progress. Search now cancels or retries cleanly instead of exposing stale or partial results.
Performance and stability
- Removed unnecessary recurring work from disabled Pal Insight installations
and idle extension settings. This addresses the roughly once-per-second
stutter reported by some users and prevents a mod explicitly disabled in
mods.txtfrom continuing to initialize in the background. - Extension UI work now stays on the game thread. Fast request and input handling runs only while the relevant settings panel is open, and idle coordination reuses existing bounded maintenance work instead of adding another recurring loop.
v1.8.0 - 2026-08-30
Introducing Pal Insight: Quick Stack
- Added optional in-game settings support for the new standalone companion mod
Pal Insight: Quick Stack. Pressing its default
F5shortcut while inside the current base stores matching items from the normal player backpack in suitable private storage, while respecting the player'sTab→Rexclusions and never selecting Guild Chests automatically. - Quick Stack is a separate download and is not bundled with or required by
Pal Insight. It remains fully usable on its own; standalone users can change
Key,Shift,Ctrl, andAltin%LOCALAPPDATA%\Pal\Saved\PalInsightQuickStack-config.lua. - When both mods are installed, Pal Insight now exposes
F6 → Controls → Pal Insight: Quick Stack → Quick Stack shortcut. The section appears only while a compatible Quick Stack runtime is active. - Quick Stack remains the sole owner of item movement and its persisted shortcut. Pal Insight only provides the optional in-game shortcut editor.
- The Quick Stack shortcut label follows all 17 Palworld interface languages supported by Pal Insight.
v1.7.6 - 2026-08-30
World HUD
- Prevented the capture count on ordinary world HP gauges from covering native
status-effect icons. While an effect such as Wet or Burning is displayed,
only the added
× countis temporarily hidden; Palworld's original capture icon remains visible, and the count returns automatically when the effect ends.
Inspection controls
- Aim activation now always uses Hold display behavior. Incompatible display choices are disabled while Aim is selected, and older Aim + Toggle settings are normalized so releasing aim cannot leave stale Pal details on screen.
Potential vision
- When the game's Pal Tamer Goggles are equipped, the F7 shortcut now preserves the retained virtual-vision setting and shows a localized ownership notice. The settings note also reflects when the game currently controls supported potential displays and explains that virtual preferences resume after the goggles are removed.
v1.7.5 - 2026-08-29
Pal Insight 1.7.5 reduces target-pillar allocation, selection, and follow work in populated areas. Target categories and priority are unchanged, while the available range and shared-count presets now favor distances players can use.
Performance
- Bounded moving-Pal pillar refreshes to at most four Niagara reinitializations per game-thread update and stopped early when the shared target-beacon deadline is exhausted. Deferred moving pillars remain eligible on the next update, avoiding the multi-second follow delay that could grow with the number of active pillars.
- Changed Pal target selection into resumable work that yields at the shared deadline and continues during a later update instead of walking every tracked record in one frame. New actor or classification events now request a follow-up pass instead of discarding completed partial work.
- Bounded each target category's retained candidates to the configured global pillar limit, so final nearest-target sorting no longer grows with the number of tracked Pals.
Target pillars
- Changed the display-range choices to 300, 500, or 1000 metres, with 500 metres as the default. Existing 2000- or 5000-metre choices migrate to 1000 metres.
- Changed the shared active-pillar choices to 8, 12, or 16, with 12 as the default. Existing 24-pillar choices migrate to 16.
Fixes
- Kept the native inspection summary available when an early game callback has
not supplied a valid target or
IndividualHandleyet. Pal Insight now waits for the next valid callback while keeping structural widget failures fail-closed. - Restored pooled world-gauge potential panels after progressive capture thresholds unlock them, without applying a saved visibility state to a different Pal or world session.
Interface
- Increased unchecked-checkbox contrast in the settings window and centered column headings through layout geometry so focus and hover positioning remain consistent.
v1.7.4 - 2026-08-29
Pal Insight 1.7.4 improves which nearby targets receive limited world pillars and reduces recurring background work from Palbox Search.
Target pillars
- High-Potential and incomplete-capture pillars now favor the nearest eligible Pals instead of retaining a farther target only because it already had a pillar.
Performance
- Palbox Search now initializes and retries only the hook groups needed by the interface that was loaded or is currently active, then caches completed groups. This reduces repeated compatibility lookups while preserving support for Palbox and facility interfaces that load later.
v1.7.3 - 2026-08-29
Pal Insight 1.7.3 makes the speed HUD easier to place, makes F6 Settings clearer and safer to control, and improves Palbox Search reliability.
Game HUD
- Added horizontal and vertical position offsets for the real-time speed HUD. Both default to zero, preserve the existing lower-left placement, and can be adjusted together in one F6 Settings row. The safe ranges are -60 to 400 for horizontal movement and -300 to 20 for vertical movement. Negative values move the display left or up; positive values move it right or down.
- The speed readout now remains visible while F6 Settings is open so position changes can be previewed immediately, while staying hidden on Palworld loading screens.
- The speed readout now hides while the player or current mount is stationary and returns as soon as movement resumes. F6 Settings still shows the zero-speed preview while adjusting its position.
- Disabling the speed HUD now cancels its background sampler and removes the viewport widget instead of continuing to poll velocity while hidden.
Settings
- New installations and Restore Defaults now enable the real-time speed HUD, world HP-gauge capture counts, and the Lucky Pal, Mimog, Rampaging Pal, ominous Pal Egg, zero-Potential, and high-Potential target pillars. Existing saved choices are preserved. Incomplete-capture pillars remain disabled by default to avoid dense fields of white markers.
- Checkbox hit targets now use a balanced
40×32area. Clicking elsewhere on a toggle row keeps its hover feedback but no longer flashes a false pressed state when the checkbox value will not change. - Numeric fields now enter editing only after Confirm or a mouse click. Before activation, Left/Right navigates between controls in shared rows without changing their values. While active, Left/Right or A/D adjusts the value by one. Mouse clicks retain native text entry, selection, and deletion, while keyboard/controller activation avoids unexpected IME input.
- Reworked labels, section grouping, helper text, and preset summaries for the Inspection panel, Progressive Reveal, Potential, and target pillars across all supported languages. Inspection presets now state which activation, behavior, position, and scale settings they replace.
Palbox Search
- Added a keyboard-only Toggle search input shortcut to the Palbox Search settings. It defaults to Tab, applies immediately, rejects conflicts with other Pal Insight shortcuts, and makes the previous shortcut inactive as soon as a new binding is accepted.
- Plain Tab remains local to the active Palbox window while it is configured as the search shortcut. After remapping the shortcut, Tab returns to Palworld's native close behavior without also opening the inventory.
- Fixed the Expedition Station losing its search row after closing and reopening, including after switching repeatedly between search editing and result browsing.
- Fixed Expedition Station selections temporarily restoring the unfiltered list, jumping filtered results back to the first page, desynchronizing the page indicator, or making paging unresponsive after selecting Pals.
- Reduced cursor-hover and repeated-click stalls in Expedition Station and Pal Essence Condenser results by stabilizing ownership of Palworld's F / View details action.
v1.7.2 - 2026-08-28
Pal Insight 1.7.2 makes Settings much faster to open, adds control over the total number of target pillars, and refines the About interface.
Performance
- The F6 Settings panel now opens much faster, especially when reopened within the same world.
Target beacons
- Added a configurable total limit of 8, 12, 16, or 24 active target pillars. The default is 16.
- Pal and ominous Pal Egg pillars now share this single limit instead of using separate fixed limits.
- When the limit is reached, priority is given to ominous Pal Eggs, Rampaging Pals, Mimogs, Lucky Pals, zero-Potential Pals, high-Potential Pals, and species captured fewer than five times, in that order.
- Changed the zero-Potential pillar color from silver-gray to cyan for clearer distinction.
Interface
- Improved text wrapping in About for longer translations.
- Expanded the Special Thanks and Supporters lists from two columns to three.
v1.7.1 - 2026-08-28
Pal Insight 1.7.1 simplifies older installations, adds a zero-Potential target beacon, and delivers a substantial performance update for world target markers.
Installation - important
- New Nexus/manual and Game Pass packages now use only the
PalInsightUE4SS directory. The temporaryPalInsightSettingscompatibility directory and its cleanup tool are no longer included. - If an old
PalInsightSettingsdirectory is still present, close Palworld and delete it manually before installing this update. Your saved Pal Insight settings will not be removed. - Release checks now verify that all required About images and license files are included in every package.
Performance improvements
- Eliminated the noticeable hitches previously caused by enabling target beacons or entering the main world. Normal operation now discovers Pals and ominous Pal Eggs through lifecycle registries instead of full-object scans.
- In local acceptance captures, the earlier approximately 33 ms reconciliation spike fell below the profiler's 1 ms measurement resolution, while bounded registry replay work peaked at 1 ms.
- Disabled beacons now perform zero recurring beacon pumps. When enabled, discovery, capture-count checks, pillar creation, movement tracking, and cleanup remain bounded per update to reduce frame-time spikes and microstuttering in busy areas.
New
- Added an optional cyan pillar for wild Pals whose HP, Attack, and Defense Potential are all exactly zero.
- This option is disabled by default and available in all 17 supported interface languages.
Target beacons
- Pals and ominous Pal Eggs are now marked and cleared more reliably as they appear or disappear from the world.
- Pillars follow moving targets more smoothly and remain easier to see at long range.
- When a Pal matches several enabled categories, only one pillar is shown.
- Priority is given to Rampaging Pals, Mimogs, Lucky Pals, zero-Potential Pals, high-Potential Pals, and species captured fewer than five times, in that order.
- Disabling a higher-priority category allows an eligible Pal to use the next enabled matching pillar.
- Up to six incomplete-capture white pillars can share the existing limit of eight Pal pillars; ominous Pal Eggs retain their separate limit of eight.
Fixes
- Short presses and quick releases of the inspection key are now detected more reliably.
- Fixed cases where closing Settings or Palbox Search could leave game controls or menus unresponsive.
- Palbox Search now restores the game's normal controls correctly when closed.
About
- Refined the Creator and community layout and expanded Special Thanks with the project's original inspiration and selected Nexus Mods and Steam Workshop contributors in chronological order.
- Fixed missing icons and nickname characters, improved alignment, and removed the hover effect that could remain after clicking.
v1.7.0 - 2026-08-27
New target beacons
- Added an optional green pillar for wild Pals whose HP, Attack, and Defense Potential all meet your configured thresholds.
- Added an optional purple pillar for ominous Pal Eggs found around the World Tree.
- Added three pillar update-frequency presets: Smooth, Balanced, and Low overhead.
Target-beacon improvements
- Improved pillar visibility and tracking while targets move or remain at long range.
- Improved performance by limiting and distributing target discovery work over time.
- Refined overlapping beacon rules so each Pal receives only one marker:
- Rampaging Pals remain exclusive red targets.
- Other eligible Pals fall back through Mimog, Lucky Pal, low capture count, and high Potential according to the enabled options.
- Disabling a higher-priority category no longer prevents an eligible lower-priority marker from appearing.
- Reworked the related F6 descriptions to explain marker scope, limits, priority, conditions, and update behavior more clearly.
Facility details
- Fixed a crash that could occur when viewing party Pal details from the Pal Essence Condenser.
- Prevented recycled or outdated facility slots from opening details for the wrong Pal.
Settings and About
- Added Special Thanks and Supporters sections to the About panel.
- Refined the About layout and localized the new content across all 17 supported interface languages.
v1.6.0 - 2026-08-26
Pal Insight 1.6.0 adds optional world target guidance, brings Pal details to more facility screens, and improves Palbox Search interaction.
Added
Target beacons
- Added native-style light pillars for nearby wild targets:
- Lucky Pals use gold.
- Mimogs use blue.
- Rampaging Pals use red.
- Species captured fewer than five times use white.
- Each target category can be enabled independently. Target guidance is disabled by default.
- Only wild Pals within the detection range are eligible; base Pals, owned Pals, and mounts are excluded.
- Special targets take priority. At most eight targets are marked at once, including at most four white incomplete-capture markers.
Pal details in facilities
- Added Palworld's existing View details action to the Pal Expedition Station and Pal Essence Condenser for both keyboard and controller users.
- Facility Pal details are enabled by default and can be disabled independently in F6 Settings.
Changed
Palbox Search
- Live result updates now keep text entry active while typing, including after clearing the search query.
- Moving the pointer across result cards now switches cleanly to result browsing. Press Tab to return to text entry.
Performance
- Target guidance now updates only the nearby targets that can actually appear.
- Incomplete-capture checks run only when white-marker candidates are needed.
Interface presentation
- Ordinary world HP-gauge Paldeck numbers now sit below the native level display instead of competing with the Pal-name row.
- Improved the Progressive Reveal capture-requirement heading alignment and placed the real-time speed explanation before its unit and refresh controls.
v1.5.3 - 2026-08-25
Pal Insight 1.5.3 fixes Palbox Search interfering with material selection in the Pal Essence Condenser.
Fixed
Palbox Search
- Fixed Select all material Pals on page (F) doing nothing in filtered Pal Essence Condenser results, especially after switching result pages. It now selects or unselects eligible materials on whichever filtered page is open.
- After selecting a base Pal, incompatible Pals on every filtered result page now show Palworld's normal unavailable marker. Materials selected across multiple pages remain selected after paging or clearing the search query.
v1.5.2 - 2026-08-25
Pal Insight 1.5.2 brings Pal numbers and capture progress to more in-game interfaces, while improving Potential Vision and Palbox Search reliability.
Added
Pal numbers and capture progress
- Paldeck numbers can now be shown on:
- The LAlt inspection panel.
- Ordinary and Boss world HP gauges.
- The Palbox detail panel.
- Each surface can be enabled independently from its corresponding Settings tab.
- The optional world capture count now also appears on Boss HP gauges.
- Zero captures remain hidden.
- The display follows Palworld's native Pal Sphere colors and visual style.
Changed
Interface presentation
- Pal numbers now use consistent placement and a secondary text style without changing Palworld's original Pal-name presentation.
- Adjusted the Palbox Search toolbar's vertical alignment.
Settings and installation
- Potential settings now explain which displays are controlled by equipped Pal Tamer Goggles and which continue to use their own mod settings.
- Refined localized Settings wording, including the Simplified and Traditional Chinese names for Progressive Reveal.
- Manual and Game Pass installs now use
PalInsightas their UE4SS mod directory. Existing settings are preserved automatically, and no action is normally required.
Steam Workshop
- Refreshed the Workshop title and cover while keeping the package pinned to the exact reviewed 1.5.2 Nexus archive.
Fixed
Potential displays and world HP gauges
- F7 Potential Vision changes now immediately refresh active Boss Potential values as well as ordinary overhead gauges.
Palbox Search
- Pal Expedition Station search now remains available after switching supported facility screens or reopening the menu.
v1.5.1 - 2026-08-24
This maintenance update improves world Potential refreshes and Pal Expedition Station search reliability after 1.5.0.
Fixed
Potential displays and world HP gauges
- Existing world HP gauges now read their currently bound Pal correctly before
applying an immediate Potential refresh.
- Potential Vision and Progressive Reveal changes no longer wait for the affected gauge to be recreated when it is still safe to refresh in place.
Palbox Search
- Pal Expedition Station now keeps its temporary native action capture active until all required actions have been registered.
- Closing the Expedition screen during setup now releases that temporary capture cleanly instead of leaving stale search or page-control bindings.
Game Pass package
- The Game Pass package now includes the complete About page artwork and breeding calculator preview.
Steam Workshop package
- Workshop revision
1.5.1-2restores the complete About page artwork and breeding calculator preview omitted from the first 1.5.1 Workshop upload.
v1.5.0 - 2026-08-23
Pal Insight 1.5.0 builds on the public 1.4.0 release. It completes the F6 settings redesign, expands HUD feedback, and improves reliability across supported installation methods.
Added
Gameplay feedback
- Potential Vision now briefly reports On or Off when toggled with F7
or its controller binding.
- The notice does not take input focus.
- The lower-left real-time speed HUD now supports:
- Palworld game units.
- m/s.
- km/h.
- mph.
- Added an optional capture-count readout to world HP gauges.
- It appears beside Palworld's native Pal Sphere indicator.
- It is disabled by default.
Shortcut safety
- Controls now warns when a keyboard shortcut may also be used by another
UE4SS mod.
- The binding remains active so the user can choose which mod to rebind.
Changed
F6 settings organization
- Reorganized Settings into eight task-focused pages:
- Inspection Presets.
- Inspection Panel.
- Panel Content.

- Ground speed.
- Sprint speed.
- Swimming speed.
- Swimming-sprint speed.
Long-session and panel reliability

Search performance
The full path from typing to result paging has been rebuilt.
- Typing:
- Non-empty queries update once after a brief pause.
- Rapid typing no longer refreshes the result list after every keystroke.
- Clearing the query still restores the original list immediately.
- Page preparation:
- Result pages are prepared before they appear.
- Completed pages are reused when revisited.
- Partially updated Pal cards are never shown as the active page.
- Rapid paging:
- Search catches up to the latest requested page.
- Pages already passed do not continue refreshing in the background.
- Single presses, holding Q/E, and reversing direction retain Palworld's original behavior.
- Result: after extensive in-game testing and repeated optimization, rapid search-result paging performs close to Palworld's original paging.
Fixed
- Input method shortcuts: no longer trigger unintended game actions while using the search box.
v1.3.1 - 2026-08-19
Added
- Added an optional real-time movement speed readout for the player and current
mount. It appears beneath the hunger bar, reports speed in
m/s, is enabled by default, and can be disabled under Displayed Information. Its setting and help text support all 17 interface languages currently shipped by Palworld.
Fixed
- Fixed unrevealed Passive Skills using the purple rare-skill background when Progressive Display was enabled. Locked Passive Skills now use the ordinary passive-skill style consistently with the other hidden information rows.
- Fixed existing world health bars not updating Potential immediately after Progressive Display or its Potential threshold was changed.
- Fixed Palbox Search occasionally failing to appear after startup, including when Palbox was already open before the search interface became ready.
- Fixed Escape becoming unable to close Palbox after searching. With a focused non-empty search, the first press now clears the query and returns focus to the Palbox list; the next press closes Palbox. An empty search closes immediately.
v1.3.0 - 2026-08-18
Added
- Added full-storage Palbox search to Palworld interfaces that use the shared
Palbox list, including:
- Palbox
- Pal Expedition Station
- Pal Essence Condenser
- Search supports the following categories:
- Paldeck number
- Pal name or nickname
- Partner Skill
- Equipped Active Skills
- Passive Skills
- Added multiple queries separated by half-width
,or full-width,commas. Number, name, and Partner Skill searches match any listed term; Active and Passive Skill searches require every listed skill. - Search remembers the last selected category across worlds and game restarts.
- Added an enabled-by-default Palbox Search setting with a configurable shortcut (F3 by default).
- Added an option to inspect defeated Pals (disabled by default).
Fixed
- Fixed the Paldeck number occasionally failing to refresh or hide.
- Fixed Pal Tamer Goggles and related Potential setting changes causing unnecessary inspection-panel rebuilds or duplicate world-gauge refreshes.
- Completed localization for all settings text across Palworld's 17 supported interface languages.
v1.2.3 - 2026-08-15
Added
- Added an optional Paldeck number before the Pal's name. It uses a smaller
No. ###prefix, keeps the original name styling intact, and can be disabled under Displayed Information.
Fixed
- Fixed a crash that could occur when equipping or removing Pal Tamer Goggles, especially after world health bars had been reused across multiple targets.
- Already-visible world health bars now update Potential immediately when Pal Tamer Goggles are equipped or removed, or when the related display setting is changed. Existing gauges no longer keep outdated Potential visibility until the player leaves the area.
- Possible Drops no longer shows zero-probability entries as guaranteed 100% drops.
- Corrected the icon used by the Capture Count row in the native summary.
- Settings rows no longer shift horizontally when the scrollbar first appears.
v1.2.2 - 2026-08-14
Fixed
- Fixed a controller shortcut issue where pressing R3 alone could incorrectly open Settings if L3 had been pressed and released earlier. The configured settings shortcut now activates only when both buttons are actually held as a chord.
v1.2.1 - 2026-08-14
Fixed
- Fixed rare settings-panel lockups where F6, Escape, controller Back, or the Close button could stop closing the window after repeated use or input-device switching.
- Kept keyboard, mouse, and controller settings input on one coordinated path, preventing duplicate processing and keeping mixed-device navigation responsive.
- Opening Settings while Palworld's radial menu is visible now closes the radial menu cleanly instead of leaving both interfaces open at once.
- Improved recovery when only part of the settings input system is available during startup, preventing repeated actions after a later retry succeeds.
v1.2.0 - 2026-08-13
Settings experience
- Added Quick Presets at the top of the settings panel for Keyboard / Mouse, Controller / TV, and Handheld use. Presets update the activation method, display behavior, panel position, and scale while preserving bindings, opacity, content switches, Potential preferences, and progression settings.
- Changed choice settings to open a dedicated selection list. Keyboard and controller users can review options with directional input and confirm with Enter or the controller confirm button instead of cycling values blindly.
- Limited left/right adjustment to numeric settings to reduce accidental changes, and added a confirmation step before Restore Defaults resets the full configuration.
- Added a dedicated controller-binding window that shows full button names.
Inspect and Potential shortcuts can use one or two buttons, while the
settings shortcut remains a safer two-button combination. Changes take
effect immediately without restarting the game or editing
config.lua.
Controller and input reliability
- Reworked settings navigation so keyboard, mouse, D-pad, and left stick can be used interchangeably in the same session without losing the current row.
- Added held-direction repeat for controller navigation and kept numeric adjustment consistent with keyboard behavior.
- Isolated settings input from Palworld while the window is open, preventing confirmation, movement, camera, jump, and radial-menu actions from reaching the game behind the panel.
- Made the configurable L3 + R3 settings shortcut, controller Back, Close, and Restore Defaults follow the same window lifecycle and action paths as their keyboard and mouse equivalents.
- Added guarded controller-binding updates so an invalid or failed settings shortcut cannot silently replace the last working combination.
v1.1.1 - 2026-08-11
Fixed
- Fixed native Potential progressive reveal failing to read capture counts,
which could leave ordinary and Boss world HP gauges and other native
Potential surfaces locked at
???after the configured capture requirement had been met.
v1.1.0 - 2026-08-11
Main panel overhaul
- Rebuilt the upper summary around a compact version of Palworld's own Pal detail interface. Names, levels, portraits, status information, core stats, work state, food, and Potential now use the game's familiar presentation.
- Because Palworld's full detail interface includes its own skill area, the existing Active Skills, Passive Skills, Movement Speed, and Possible Drops sections have been re-fitted beneath the new upper summary as one continuous panel.
- Integrated Capture Count into the native stat block using the clearer
current / 5format, while retaining the same-species Palbox total above the portrait.
Added and changed
- Added Partner Skill information with its own display switch and progressive capture threshold. The section is shown only when inspecting a Pal.
- Retained Follow and the four existing corner positions, and added middle-left and middle-right placement for a total of six fixed positions.
- New installations and Restore Defaults now use an 85% panel scale. Existing installations retain their saved scale.
- New installations and Restore Defaults now leave controller inspection unbound, with progressive reveal, Partner Skill, and Potential vision kept opt-in. All Potential-vision locations remain preselected when the feature is enabled.
- Reorganized the settings panel around common tasks: panel scale and position now appear first, while infrequently changed key bindings appear last.
- Reordered content switches and progressive thresholds to match the panel's top-to-bottom presentation.
- Extended same-species Palbox totals to capturable human targets and kept the total centered as the number of digits changes.
Performance
- Optimized the new detail panel's loading path to reduce visible hitches on its first appearance and when moving between targets.
- Reduced measured first-open work from about 138 ms to about 12 ms, and the cold first-frame envelope from roughly 44 ms to 21 ms, by preparing the real analyzer tree offscreen, skipping inactive progressive work, reusing native UI resources, removing a duplicate layout pass, and batching widget-tree name resolution.
- Distributed Palbox counting across smaller updates so large collections no longer concentrate the work into one visible pause.
- Reduced unnecessary work after the panel has settled and made settings-row selection respond more smoothly to mouse movement.
Fixed
- Fixed keyboard and controller shortcuts reverting after assignment, including two-button controller chords.
- Prevented the left mouse button from becoming the settings shortcut. Existing unsafe left-mouse bindings are automatically restored to F6.
- Fixed repeated F6 presses, remapped shortcuts, Escape, or the Close button occasionally leaving the settings panel unable to open or close.
- Made Escape and controller Back close settings only after their matching release has been consumed, preventing that release from reaching Palworld's underlying menu.
- Made settings teardown reentrancy-safe and resilient to partial cleanup failures, and ensured world travel closes a visible settings window before discarding world-owned UI references.
- Restored the input state that was active before opening settings, so closing Pal Insight from an inventory or other game menu keeps its mouse pointer instead of switching to camera control.
- Fixed progressive-reveal changes briefly showing stale panel or Active Skills height by settling native and auxiliary geometry after native content updates.
- Fixed the incubator Potential display reusing values from a different hatch result; it now follows the result currently selected by Palworld.
- Prevented the incubator Potential panel from being cut off on standard-width displays; it now uses the side of the hovered Pal details with enough space.
v1.0.8
- Unified mouse, keyboard, and controller settings navigation around one persistent full-row selection instead of allowing stale native widget focus to override the visible row.
- Fixed W/S, arrow-key, A/D, Enter, and Space operation after mouse hover, and prevented Enter/Space or a controller confirm press from becoming the new shortcut merely because it started key capture.
- Added direct controller navigation, confirmation, cancellation, and close handling for the settings panel while retaining mouse and keyboard control.
- Restored the mouse cursor immediately when returning to pointer input after a keyboard/controller action, without adding a recurring gameplay scan.
- Prevented the Escape used to close Pal Insight settings from occasionally propagating into Palworld's own system menu.
- Refined the gap between the main status area and the Potential section title.
v1.0.7
- Fixed Toggle inspection so the current target card remains available after releasing the inspection input instead of immediately disappearing.
- Reworked controller rebinding and added a configurable two-button controller chord for opening settings, while preserving the existing keyboard defaults.
- Added full-row focus feedback and keyboard, mouse, and controller navigation to the settings panel, including Escape as a convenient close action.
- Added a localized settings note explaining that real equipped glasses retain Palworld's native Party, Palbox, and world display behavior, while the mod-added incubator panel remains controlled by its own switch.
- Added Palworld's native four-star condensation display above the capture count, including the game's inactive states and maximum-rank treatment.
- Made the inspection card more compact and changed Movement Speed to a borderless, aligned two-column layout without changing the spacing between individual skill or drop entries.
- Added an independent incubator potential display beside hatched-Pal hover details, using Palworld's localized native widget, potential colors, equipped- glasses rule, and virtual-vision controls.
- Removed recurring native-potential widget-tree/cache work and cached resolved movement-speed data, eliminating the periodic gameplay hitch observed during v1.0.7 development.
v1.0.6
- Added an optional Movement Speed section for rideable Pals, showing the authoritative base values for each applicable movement mode.
- Added Work Suitability data for human NPCs while preserving the existing Pal lookup, rank bonuses, progressive reveal, and visibility behavior.
- Restored the same-species Palbox count that was present as a setting but did not appear in v1.0.5.
- Added a global potential-display rule that can require Palworld's original equipped-glasses check across the inspection card, Party, Palbox, and world HP gauges.
- Added a remappable gamepad binding for virtual potential vision and grouped the inspection, settings, and potential shortcuts together under Controls.
- Reorganized the settings panel by purpose and changed the default settings shortcut from Shift+O to F6. Existing custom bindings are preserved.
v1.0.5
- Fixed the Work Suitability display toggle by adding its missing native
Collapsedbranch. - Matched the unframed empty Passive Skills
--row height to the Work Suitability and Possible Drops empty states. - Added Palworld's native Rare marker to the portrait status slot.
- Rare and Alpha/Boss markers now follow the game's own priority instead of overlapping.
- Added optional native potential vision with independent Party, Palbox, and ordinary/Boss world-HP-gauge controls. Relevant equipped accessories retain Palworld's native behavior and bypass Pal Insight's visibility switches.
- Applied Game/FourTier potential colors to native potential widgets; FourTier changes only the 0–49 tier to red and Game restores Palworld's native blue.
- Added a remappable potential-vision shortcut (F7 by default).
- Added localized labels for the new native-UI settings across all 17 supported interface languages.
v1.0.4
- Removed the internal Oil Extraction work-suitability entry that is not exposed by Palworld's normal UI.
- Rebalanced the remaining work-suitability icons across the full row with equal spacing.
- Fixed disabled Potential, Active Skills, and Passive Skills sections reappearing after inspecting owned Pals.
- Eliminated repeated fixed-corner layout submissions during initial target setup, reducing short frame-time spikes in fixed-position modes.
v1.0.3
- Added Hold, Toggle, and Always On display modes.
- Added optional same-species Palbox counts and inspection for owned/base Pals.
- Added Palworld-style and optional four-tier potential color modes.
- Added version information and expanded localization to the settings panel.
- Improved fixed-position panel behavior and reduced background work.
- Cached Palbox scans to avoid unnecessary repeated counting.
- Refined input handling, settings persistence, and panel positioning.
v1.0.2
- Added remappable keyboard/mouse and gamepad inspection controls.
- Added panel scaling from 60% to 100% and follow/fixed-corner positions.
- Added Shortcut and Aim activation modes with valid-Pal crosshair gating.
- Added optional progressive reveal with independent capture thresholds.
- Locked information now uses neutral
???placeholders; genuinely absent data uses--. - Localized the settings panel for all 17 Palworld interface languages.
- Moved all settings to the bundled Lua configuration and removed the legacy JSON config.
v1.0.1
- Fixed the empty Passive Skills section so it now shows a plain
--placeholder. - Aligned empty placeholders across Passive Skills, Work Suitability, and Possible Drops.
- Restored continuous target switching while holding Alt or Alt + Right Mouse Button.
- Reduced repeated runtime work and log noise for smoother inspection.
- Fixed Alpha/Boss marker detection, size, and placement.
v1.0.0
- Initial public release of Pal Insight for Palworld 1.0.
- Introduced a redesigned, native-style Pal information panel.
- Added potential values, active and passive skills, work suitability, and possible drops.
- Added an in-game settings panel accessible with Shift+O.
- Added localized interface text that follows the game's language where available.
