We got the amazing Final Ascent update. But i want more. How about a TRUE Final Ascent?
True Final Ascent adds a last new Mode. FINAL ASCENT. You climb through all the biomes. And i mean ALL of them. Shore -> Tropics -> Roots -> Alpine -> Mesa -> Caldera -> Kiln -> Gloom -> Citadel.
What is this? - What happened if i made my fun PEAK ideas reality.
The FINAL ASCENT
- You generate a unique map every time at runtime. It will take 1-2 minutes. All the biomes. One run.
- Every difficulty works, from Tenderfoot up to the highest Ascent.
- The secret ending works too.
- Rejoining or late joining should work too, and it was a pain in the a.. to make.
Apocalypse mode
- Spice up your runs. Not just FINAL ASCENT. Enable this on top of your runs for a new experience.
- Weather Events. Everywhere. Over and over again.
- Not just the vanilla ones (even those got redone), but over 10 completely new ones.
- Highly configurable! Directly in game. Pick your difficulty, modifiers and even untick weathers you don't want.
- Blazing hot! Beat it on Normal or harder to unlock the Burning name color!

Bragging rights
Your name floats above your head. It might as well say something about you.
- Silver for 1–3 Ascents cleared, Gold for 4–7, and Diamond once you've cleared all eight — that one glints.
- Finish the Final Ascent on PEAK difficulty or higher, and arrive alive. You unlock the Rainbow name. It's exactly as subtle as it sounds.
- Beat unmodified Apocalypse mode to unlock the Burning name. Blazing hot - just like you.
- Pause menu, bottom left: your Ascent scoreboard. Right above it, a dropdown to pick which color everyone else sees.
The other nonsense
- Help your friends. Or don't. Helping and kicking are no longer mutually exclusive. Reach out to help as usual, or press F for a surprise screaming friend. Let the intrusive thoughts win.
- Energy drink combo. Drink one while another is still going and you get 13 seconds of absolute rocket fuel with infinite stamina. But beware the sugar crash after. Please don't try at home.
- Weaponised medicine. Overcook a Cure-All until it bursts and curses you and your friends, and healing you after it wears off.
Q&A
How long does a full Final Ascent run take?
Easy 1-2 hours. Be prepared. Bring snacks.
Do I need to have cleared all the normal Ascents first?
No.
Is this Ascent 8 only?
No, you can select any difficulty AFTER selecting and starting FINAL ASCENT.
My game crashes after Biome Generation!
Most likely a light calculation crash. Go to the mods config and try other Lighting types.
What if i disconnect?
One can always late/rejoin.
Do badges work in Final Ascent?
Yes!
Does everyone in the lobby need this?
Yes. expect horrible bugs otherwise.
What exactly IS Apocalypse mode?
It's a mode you can apply ON TOP of your selected climb. It disables vanilla weather and adds a new weather system with a LOT of completely new events.
Mod compatibility
Most mods should work. But be careful with those, that alter the game a lot.
