Chainbound
Chainbound links PEAK players together with a shared chain. Climb together, fall together, drag your friends out of trouble, and try not to turn one bad jump into everyone's problem.
Everyone in the lobby needs Chainbound installed. The lobby check and in-run warning will show who is missing the mod or using the wrong version.
What It Adds
- Players in the lobby are connected by chain links.
- Chains pull, swing, dangle, and go taut as you move around the mountain.
- Downed players are easier to drag to safety.
- Players who respawn far away or join late are handled so the chain does not yank across the whole map.
- Reconnecting players keep their chain spot when possible, so a group does not reshuffle just because someone dropped.
- Checkpoint and revive situations should reconnect once people are close enough again.
- Dangerous chain-wipe actions can be punished or blocked by the host.
- The host can tune chain length, pull strength, stamina cost, and other gameplay settings. These are automatically synced.
Pulling Friends Up
You can pull in the chain link next to you.
Hold PEAK's normal reach / pull-people-up button to highlight the link you are aiming at. While that link is highlighted, hold the Chainbound pull key (default Y) to reel it in.
Pulling costs stamina and cannot be done while you are actively climbing, on a rope, on a vine, or hanging from a piton.
Chain Size
The host can set MaxGroupSize to split a larger lobby into smaller chains, set to '0' to chain everyone.
The host can also shuffle the chain order with the shuffle key. By default, the order also shuffles when the group advances at a campfire.
