Caldera Lava Control
This mod lets you control certain aspects of the Caldera lava, namely how fast its cycle is or what level it should stay at.
Only the host requires this mod; the lava is synced to clients.
Compatible with ModConfig. Changes are immediately updated in-game.
Most of the code was lifted from pooblives' Torrential Torment mod, with a config option added for fixing the lava height at a specific level. You probably shouldn't run both Torrential Torment and this mod at the same time.
TT is a good mod, but I don't like having to disable it every time I join a lobby I'm not hosting. If poob wants me to take this mod down, I'll do it if he actually responds to my messages on Discord. 😎
Config
Lava cycle speed multiplier - Lava Cycle speed multiplier. 1.0 is default.
Fixed lava (overrides speed mult) - Prevents the lava from moving. Like the name implies, ignores the speed multiplier.
Fixed lava position - The position of the lava when it's fixed. Only applies if the option above is True. 0.0 is the lowest position, while 1.0 is the highest.
Lava sync rate - Seconds between syncs to other clients. Default is 0.1, or 10 times per second. Going lower than this will make the lava rise smoother, but may cause lag in larger lobbies. 0.1 worked well and didn't cause any noticable lag in a 12 player lobby. The vanilla default is one update every 5 seconds.
