FogClimb
Host-only PEAK fog climb mode with synced fog, vanilla progress direct starts, optional compass support, HUD, and separate fog/night cold control. Guests can join without installing it.FogClimb
FogClimb turns PEAK into a host-driven fog climb mode. One host installation is enough for solo play, private lobbies, and normal guest joins.
Version: 1.2.1
At a glance
- Only the host needs to install FogClimb.
- Guests can join normally without this mod.
- Offline and online use the same main rules.
- Fog speed, fog delay, HUD, compass, and pause hotkey are controlled from ModConfig.
- ModConfig labels switch between Chinese and English with the game's current language.
Main features
- The host can adjust Fog Speed and Fog Delay in ModConfig.
- FogClimb reuses the game's original progress trigger logic, so the fog can start early if the whole team has already pushed far enough.
- The fog HUD appears in the lobby and during gameplay.
- Optional compass support gives players a normal compass after the opening delay and after each campfire.
- Manual compass spawns are placed in front of the player's face direction to avoid hand and inventory issues.
- Host-side fog state, guest HUD state, and unmodded guest cold correction are all synchronized for multiplayer.
Cold handling
- Suppress Fog Cold controls only the cold caused by the fog itself. Default: OFF.
- Night Cold controls the game's night-cold behavior for Ascent 5+. Default: ON.
- Normal night cold is preserved when the setting is enabled.
- FogClimb keeps fog-cold handling and night-cold handling separate.

Multiplayer behavior
- The host owns fog movement, delay timing, direct-start checks, compass rewards, and night-cold handling.
- Guests do not need FogClimb installed for the mode to work.
- If a guest also has FogClimb installed, it stays passive unless that player becomes the host.
- Late-join handling stays on the host side to reduce desync and mod-conflict issues.
- Recent host-side guest cold-sync fixes are included in this package, including better handling during late joins.
Notes
- hold [ for 5 seconds to force night.
- In multiplayer, that hidden night test now syncs to guests as well.
